re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

Hero for sure knows how to kill a very good product. I for one had Karizma R for good time and ridden it happily. Only issue was the poor plastic panels which needed constant attention. Barring that it was a very good bike for indian riding condition.

Hero thinks it can gain the market by re introducing a bike with Karizma name tag. We have already seen what is the case with Yezdi, Jawa. I am sure Karizma XMR is also going to join the same band wagon immediately after the launch.

It is high time they introduce 300 cc bike and also bring the all new Xpulse 400 cc which was seen testing couple of times.

re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

I wouldn't completely dismiss it before launch, but this does not look promising or even attractive.

No USD forks, plain design and it also seems to have single channel ABS as I cannot see the ABS ring at the rear.

They should have used design from the old HX250R concept. It looked quite good and should have been used with some updates.

Still looking forward to the actual bike launch, and what it offers and how they price it.

re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

I couldn't get pictures but I did see a couple of bikes, 1 Naked and 1 Faired going down the highway outside Jaipur at 110+ kmph *with pillion*. There were at least 3 such bikes that I spotted on 31st May 2023.

Here is what my wife could manage on the Naked Xtreme that was overtaking me.

Alloy design seems to match, isn't it?

Hero Karizma XMR design patent leaked ahead of launch

Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to take on the Bajaj Pulsar F250 with a sporty new model called the Karizma XMR. We got our first glimpse of the bike earlier this year when it was presented at a dealer conference. Now, its design patent has leaked online.

The design patent reveals a lot of intricate details about the Karizma XMR. The bike features a sporty fairing, a two-piece seat with split grab rails and a narrow tails section.

The Karizma XMR is likely to feature clip-on handlebars and a digital instrument console. It will ride on stylish alloy wheels and will feature telescopic front suspension and a mono-shock at the rear.

According to reports, the Karizma XMR will be based on a new platform powered by a 210cc liquid-cooled engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. While detailed specs haven't been released, we can expect it to develop around 25 BHP.

How can a company be so unknowing of "WHAT WORKED" for their most legendary product ever!!!

All hero has to do is get a modern version of the Original CBZ and the Karizma R, and sit back and relax while the bikes destroy competition!!

More the merrier. This may spectacularly fail like their previous karizma iteration as well, I think ZMR or something it was called.

Seems like you've seen the bike in person and have had the opportunity to ride it as well. Do share the points you've noticed, pros and cons, and the probable root causes for it's failure.

Of course, 0-100 in 5 seconds, excellent ride with superb handling quality and a great mileage. Good range thanks to the 18L tank. But we already know this won't be the case. Hero after all did learn a lot from Honda and they won't do anything radical like Bajaj or TVS for that matter. Kudos to them for trying all said and done. Hero is trying but not hard enough. To me its not attractive as their Hx250 concept. Your opinion may vary.

Thanks for the information. It is good to know that your verdict of the motorcycle's imminent "failure" was based on presumption rather than factual. As for me, I do not have an opinion yet as neither have I seen the motorcycle nor do I know its specifications. As per the OP, it is estimated to have an output of 25bhp/30Nm with a 6 speed gearbox and going by the spy pics floating around, it does have the potential to be a spiritual successor to the CBR250R, which was an efficient tourer and in itself a successor to the original ZMA IMO.
Will Hero manage to regain the respect it got from the erstwhile ZMA or botch up the strategy like its every other 200cc offerings remains to be seen.

Not iminent failure. It's only a possibility and not probability. Just see how Triumph-Bajaj became popular fast knowing the customer needs with their Speed 400. Whether the Speed 400 maintains this momentum (read cost of ownership) is a different discussion. Also, the experience manufacturing for Harley should have influenced Hero for the better. But come on, you also have to agree we have plenty of options in this capacity range. Imho, Hero should be the next RE- kudos to RE for introducing a 650cc twin at affordable prices and still continuing development of new engines. Not being judgmental of Hero. Let them sell tonnes of this new bike if you feel that could be the market's response, no problem.

re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

What is the general public opinion, expectation on the new Karizma?

My personal expectation would be a comfortable, mechanically simple, reliable workhorse engine that could be used for multi-purpose and give a tough fight to the 220F. Hero unfortunately could not make the Xtreme 200S fit to the above purposes.

On the other hand, why can't Hero revive the older Karizma just like the relaunch of Passion Plus?

Hero Karizma XMR teased ahead of its official launch

Hero MotoCorp has shared a teaser of the upcoming Karizma XMR 210 on its website. The bike will be launched on August 29, 2023.

The teaser shows a silhouette of the Karizma XMR with a transparent box around it and with a caption that read, "The Legend Returns".

Even though it is difficult to make out any details, the bike does look quite sporty. It is expected to get a two-piece seat with split grab rails, a narrow tail section, clip-on handlebars, a digital instrument console and rides on stylish alloy wheels.
