Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

Here are a few wallpaper-worthy images that I had pulled from the website. If anyone could get the brochure in a PDF format, please drop it here. I couldn't find it on the website.

EDIT : I did find the brochure, but its too large to be uploaded here.. So I'll put up a Google Drive link for all of us.

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

I've been a fan of the Hero Karizma since its first iteration.

The new 2023 model looks really cool, hope the engine will live up to the expectations of everyone who would be getting their hands on it.
The previous versions were a let down but this seems very interesting especially when Hero has chosen to go with a high revving, high compression engine.

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

Those high handlebars point to this motorcycle being targetted at the tourers who want a good looking motorcycle which is comfortable enough for all day riding. As of now, it looks as though Hero has ticked all the right boxes with this new motorcycle. And that yellow paint job looks like it will be their best seller. Well done, Hero!

Of course, we will all crib about the lack of power (when do we not?) but having toured a fair bit with a 250cc motorcycle, I can tell you that there is more to enjoying motorcycles than having a gazillion BHP which you cannot use on our Indian roads.

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

After the failure of Xtreem 200s , Hero came up with their trump card. I think XMR 210 has all the right ingredients in it (just like Karizma R).
Nicely designed headlights, proportionate and actually good-looking faring (unlike ZMR which was a total disaster). Overall, the design looks promising to me. I hope Hero Motor Corp will recreate their Karizma R magic with XMR 210Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs-img_5324.png

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

The tank looks inspired from the Pulsar NS especially with the bumblebee yellow and the rest of the motorcycle is a better version of the Xtreme 200s.Saw a video review of this, the bike has first in class and some cool features but the engine could have been a 250cc considering the old Karizma had a 223 cc motor although this one is a DOHC and the power and torque figures are better.
The livery looks cool brings back a glimpse of Karizma R in some places especially with the iconic yellow shade , they should also launch a half faired version of this perhaps with a redesigned headlamp and resurrect the legendary Karizma R nameplate, anyways looks like Hero is back into the game now just like the tagline in the ad of the lovely Karizma R -‘Always Game’.
Wish they did a cool ad like before with Hrithik on this , miss those days when the ads really could create an emotion.

I mean, yellow was originally the iconic color of the Karizma itself. which is what it is inspired from. It was the color of the iconic Karizma from the Hritik Roshan ad back in the day.

Prices have gone insane! I purchased Ntorq in 2018 for 62k (Ex showroom), Used it for five years and sold it via beepkart for 61k. New one costs almost double now. There are only few options below 90k in the new bike/scooter market

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

Some people are calling it a commuter, and honestly, I think it smacks of a little bit of disconnect from reality. 200 CC is still aspirational for many people. It's just that most people on this forum seem to be richer and have higher standards for performance than the rest of the population and it's showing. This is priced extremely well, has enough power to tour without issues and seems to be far more comfortable than the current options.

In this forum, anything less than 250 CC is seen as a commuter. Hell, some even call the Gixxer SF 250 a commuter. Considering how well informed people are about bikes, it is a bit sad they are so ill informed about people.

I think Hero obviously has a winner on their hands after The Xpulse. This has all the right ingredients for a first bike and meets the needs of the average college guy. The most powerful engine in the segment also adds to the pros. If only the engine performs as expected this one is a Hit.
Hero advertises something like a smart headlamp. Is it an Auto head-lamp-on (AHO) feature?

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

Reading through the comments, I feel there there is a huge disconnect between asking manufacturers for what one wants VS what the reality of the Indian market is. No brand is here to do charity. I think its very important for petrol heads to see the posts here on TBHP on annual vehicle sales by model in India.

This data is what drives manufacturers to decide what product/spec to bring to the market. For example, all 390cc motorcycles from KTM ( Duke/Adv/RC) put together barely sells 700 units a months. Sure, its great to have all the BHP and tech in the world, but really who's buying them?

Until the Indian market has enough disposable income, or the cost of manufacturing goes down, There is no chance in hell that any CEO will approve a business case for any product we truly desire.

Having said that, I think Hero has done its best to give us what we need to the best of their abilities. I hope the product works, If not then don't hold your breath for too many premium bikes at the price we want them at.

The design looks good & proportionate and Hero has priced it right too. It won't have much issues selling as well due to the whole Karizma legacy. It remains to be seen how it fares against the competition.

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

I wish it had a larger capacity engine with a simpler two valve, sohc, undersquare motor. The effortless, torquey and long legged feel of the older Karizma won't be there any more which made Karizma such a legend. The Karizma Xmr with it's thoroughly modern oversquare engine would lack the easy going chilled out spirit of its predecessor inspite of its power and performance advantage.

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

More than the Karizma, I always thought the CBZ was the ground-breaking bike from HH. Those disc brakes, great handling and 150cc were all ahead of their time back then. Just like the original P150.

But today, to launch a 200cc and call it 'legendary' just shows how stagnant HH and Bajaj have become. Bajaj at least is going the JV route to release exciting bikes.

But also yes, considering the market and the volumes of bigger bikes, probably makes good sales sense. Still, sad though.

Re: Hero Karizma to return in 2023 with a 210cc engine. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.73 lakhs

Hero has been very clever with the 210cc engine. I mean, what is the easiest way to get more power out of a 200cc engine? Make it just that little bit bigger!

With this simple move, they have outclassed all the 200s coming out of Chakan. The power output is also quite close to the all the 250s at a slightly lower *introductory* price. But that difference won't last for too long and it will then be priced roughly at par with the Dominar and Suzuki 250s so Hero need to be careful with price hikes in the future.

Anyways, great addition to the market after the atrocity called the ZMR. But it was really time for the Karizma brand, the pinnacle of performance at its prime, to move on to faster machines. Would have definitely considered one had this been in the 40ish bhp ballpark.
