It very very strongly feels like a "grapes are sour" list. Because RE themselves provide alloy wheels in their lineup of retro bikes, just not for the int650 and gt650. Even more funny is the fact that alloy wheels for the aforementioned 650 twins seem to be already confirmed for international markets. Spokes are great for true offroaders. Only the Himalayan needs spokes in RE lineup. Rest is just to extract more money from customers in the name of nostalgia. In fact, people who have put in after market 17 inch alloys have eliminated the terrible death wobble at high speeds that these two bikes have. In no world today are spokes better on tarmac compared to alloys. Even KTM have solved their broken alloy issue. RE simply refuses to listen to their customers. Making a big mockery out of them. And some masochists see this as an absolute win.

Well it’s official. I’m personally not sold on the colourways and the decals, and blacked-out exhausts have a tendency to get scratched up and look terrible after a while, but they seem to have delivered what most people have been clamouring for.

Re: Royal Enfield unveils Lightning & Thunder editions of 650 Twins in Europe

As per website, these new colors get alloy wheels and blacked out engine; the usual colors (RIP baker express) get spoke wheels and chrome engine. Hope they launch the wheels as accessories soon, I am planning to pick Mr clean or Mark 2 with these Alloys. The LED lights seem to be standard across the batch.

Now another long wait for these alloy wheels to be available off the shelf. My original CEAT tyres have run out of life and I was thinking of getting these alloys+tyres.

Re: Royal Enfield unveils Lightning & Thunder editions of 650 Twins in Europe

The new additions to the Interceptor 650 have left me with itchy hands. I can't wait to swap the new parts with my MY2020 Int 650. Especially the alloy wheels, I have been struggling to get the spoke wheel perfectly true. I have been experiencing wobbles ever since I took delivery. RE even replaced my bike's chassis, as I found out it was defective and kept hidden from me by the dealership. Well, that's a story for another post.

Anyways, the new headlight, wheels, controls (maybe), levers are worth the upgrade. Hopefully RE launches these parts as accessories soon. Also excited to test out the new Vredestein sets.

Re: Royal Enfield unveils Lightning & Thunder editions of 650 Twins in Europe

Headlight, alloys, controls are all welcome changes. But a major put off in the old Interceptor was the thin padding on the narrow seat. It was pathetic on long rides.
Can someone please comment on the difference of the new seat, if any improvement has been done by RE.
