In addition to the above, R15M now comes with LED indicators as standard and a digital colour TFT display

Re: 2023 Yamaha FZ, FZ-X and MT-15 launched in India

Some interesting points:

1. FZ-S ver 4.0 DLX comes with Traction Control System and Bluetooth connectivity.
2. All bike models are specifically highlighted to be E20 compliant (except FZ50)
3. Old models are still on sale along with version 4.0
4. R15S with LED lamps and single seat variant is available for 1.62L INR (1.81L INR for Version 4.0)
5. Sadly, the FZ-250 gets a step motherly treatment as it has none of the new features other bikes from Yamaha stable have received

Re: 2023 Yamaha FZ, FZ-X and MT-15 launched in India

Thanks Yamaha for finally adding dual channel ABS on the MT-15. Makes it a complete bike now for urban commutes. I hope they have also softened up the suspension as that is one of the main complaints I hear on V2 bikes.
On the question of E20 compliance, only 2023 FZ-S V4.0 and FZ-X are currently compatible with E20 fuel. The rest of the line-up will be compatible with E20 fuel only by the end of this year.

Re: 2023 Yamaha FZ, FZ-X and MT-15 launched in India

I still do not understand the necessity to have Traction Control on the FZ-S and FZ-X Lineup. At this point, these features seem like more of a nice to have than a necessity. I understand that R15 and MT-15 might be used by track enthusiasts but FZ's are strict street usage machines that merely make 12bhp.

And I am sure that the it has been one of the most fool-proof bikes. Even with the most reckless usage, I've never seen the necessity for such a feature. The way I see this, Yamaha is marketing "nice to have(s)" compared to the competition. Hopefully this doesn't encourage other manufacturers to start doing the same.

Re: 2023 Yamaha FZ, FZ-X and MT-15 launched in India

I have a 2023 FZ-X bought in July 2023. While I am fully satisfied with the performance of the bike, one of my persistent grouse is that the rebound from the rear mono-shock is way too sharp. Every pothole, speed breaker and undulation is felt and is spine jarring enough to make it a painful experience. I used a C-wrench to adjust it to the softest setting and yet the ride is quite hard and painful.

Then I also tried reducing the tyre pressure - that helped a bit but not too much. I also added a padding on the seat to make it better, but not much difference. I have also tried searching online for a solution, but again information about this motorcycle is very less. It's a pity that the suspension rebound is way too hard, on an otherwise good commuter motorcycle.

Any leads from any experts here - how can I adjust the rear mono suspension to make it less stiff?

Just bumping up my old post from April here. The bad bone jarring performance continues even with the suspension at the softest setting. What are my options now? Every service, they just say that there's nothing wrong with the suspension. But it's so jarring and painful that I have started hating to ride the bike.

It's the same problem mentioned in this Reddit Thread here. But I have no solution yet. How do I figure out if it is a problem with my bike only or if it is a same problem with other FZ-X's? I could potentially do the following -
  1. Change the spring to a newer one with a lesser spring constant.
  2. Open the entire suspension(?) to check for any stiffness or problems. Is this even an option?
  3. Buy a new rear mono shock from the dealer and get it fitted on my bike.
However, I don't know what would actually help?

I would go and test ride a few more FZ-Xs. This would be a great way to AxB the suspension and confirm if the issue is unique to your bike or if it works as designed. Most likely, it is the latter given the nature of dynamics Yamaha motorcycles are built with all the way to the FZ-1000. Stiff as a stone but great to attack corners.
