The TVS Apache RR 310 could soon get a streetfighter version. Dubbed the Apache RTR 310, the new model is expected to be a rebadged BMW G 310 R and could be launched by the end of this month.
According to a media report, the styling of the RTR 310 is likely to be inspired by the Draken concept that was showcased at Auto Expo 2014. So, we can expect to see an aggressive-looking naked motorcycle with a sporty LED headlamp up front, an exposed frame and a narrow tail section.
The report states that the RTR 310 will use the same 313cc, single-cylinder that powers the BMW G 310 R. This unit develops 33.5 BHP and 27.3 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch. That being said, TVS is likely to retune the engine for a better mid-range grunt. The bike's top speed is rumoured to be 158 km/h.
Coming to the features and equipment, the new model may not get the RR 310’s vertical instrument console. Instead, the RTR 310 could get a horizontal TFT screen offering Bluetooth connectivity.

Great news! Hope the OTR price in Bangalore is well under 3 lakhs, that would be excellent pricing (especially now that the CB300F is such great value with the 50k discount)
This is a fantastic machine and deserves a lot more sales than what current numbers are. Market is taken by the unmatched pricing by KTM bikes which are not that refined, have heating issues but the pricing and the raw power trumps everything.
2.25-35L target price will pose a serious competition to KTM Duke/ RCs

KTMs are very well refined compared to the G310R. really no vibrations even at 110kmph+
I've seen this being tested near the TVS Hosur factory. Looks launch ready, quite racy and seems quick. And is a lot more aggressively styled than the G310 R.
Cheers,
Jay
I hope they bring it in tuned in mildADV format rather than NakedSports

I volunteer to provide you my KTM 390 ADV motorcycle to ride it back to back with this TVS-BMW 312.12cc engine for refinement comparison. :D
That aside...
I am looking forward to the design that TVS will bring to the market. I really wish that HUGE exhaust end can from the RR 310 is redesigned.
As a former two-time Apache owner (Gen 1 & RTR 180), I am sure the brand will offer impressive power-to-weight ratio.
I just hope that TVS goes ahead to sell it pan-India, and not restrict it to a limited dealers in each state.
This is interesting. Draken styling would give it a unique identity unlike the bmw 310 rr which looks apache 310rr copy-paste. :thumbs up
Personally though this makes me hopeful that TVS might get an adv version based on the bmw 310GS. I would love to upgrade to that from my OG-RTR. :)
Apache R310, maybe? :-P
Really hope they come up with an affordable adv version based on its cousin from BMW. We have enough naked street fighter bikes in India.
TVS needs to do a better job with promoting their niche products, some how they are not doing enough. This can be a winner if they take care of the Ps - price, positioning, promotion assuming product is superior /at par to competition.

TVS is working on a naked version of the Apache RR 310. The new model is likely to be called 'Apache RTR 310'. Here are some more images of the upcoming streetfighter.
The latest set of spy images reveals the RTR 310's tail section. The bike has a unique taillight design and split grabrails at the back. The number plate and turn indicators are mounted on the tyre hugger.
The chassis geometry of the Apache RTR 310 is noticeably different from the RR 310. The bike has raised handlebars and a suspension setup that allows for a more upright riding posture.
Reports suggest that the RTR 310 will use the same 313cc, single-cylinder that powers the BMW G 310 R. That tail light resembles the adventure 390 and the Ninja H2's taillight to some extent. That said, from the previously leaked images I'm happy that TVS is atleast doing something more than rebadge a product. I must say I am looking forward for this launch.
