re: TVS Apache RTR 310 launched at Rs. 2.43 lakh

This is going to be a subjective design. A design like the new Hyundai venue. Some will like and some will not. Need to give time to grow on you.
But one thing is sure, it is hell of an aggresive design.

RTR310 is finally here.

I got some points that will be loved.

1. DRLS below the headlight
2. Exhaust note seems same - love it or hate it. But a bit of the sound enhancement is there so it will be a bit loud and base full.
3. Streetfighter designed?
4. Crusie Control..Wow
5. Five Ride modes
6. Climatic controlled seat...I got this to Test and ride on an RR while testing it in AOG's ride to Ladakh 2021. They finally launched it.
7. Dynamic twin Lamps
8. RT-DSC, Brings Safety, Stability as they say.
9. Twin headlamp - will love it.
10. Bi Directional Quickshift
11. Trellis Frame
12. Built to Order, their Famous BTO
13. New Windshield
14. 5 inch TVS Connect console(connect mobile phone and gopro as well) and RSA to be offered.
15. Dynamic Tail lamp - Like floating.
16. Cornering ABS and cruise control, Keeps you on the track when on a corner.
17. Slope dependent Control.
18. Front wheel lift off control - for easier wheelie.
19. 35.6 PS
20. 150 KMPH Highest speed
21. 2.81 seconds for 0-60 kmph

22.

Same 310 cc Engine shared with faired brother RR.
With so much to offer, I am sure this is going to give the competition a run for their money.

Seems like They even launched new riding gears. I have their Riding gears and I love them.

Did someone noticed the tall adventure bikes in the background of the image

Slap my bottom and call me Judy!

Man, can't believe they didn't hype up the launch more. That's it boys, I am probably going to cancel the Speed 400 booking.

Wow, that is some tech, good Job TVS. I have always said RR310 does not sell as much as it should, but this might change it.

I am contemplating to get one again, maybe it is time to replace the Inty.

You won't regret one bit, this is an awesome engine and 310RR with a lot of those features has largely been niggle free.

Smart looking bike, but that exhaust looks out of place.

re: TVS Apache RTR 310 launched at Rs. 2.43 lakh

TVS leaving no stone unturned to make all the remaining sub 5 lac bikes to appear pre historic.

As an RR310 BTO owner, I crave for that quickshifter and cruise control.

Unless BMW incorporate the tech features in the siblings, one must have been dropped on their head at birth to buy the G310R over this.

Pricing is alright for the features on offer. The features too were needed after what Triumph did with the 400.

And a special mention and appreciation to TVS for sticking to providing the Michelin Road 5s

Now only if TVS can do what they did with the feature bump to the service centre experience and spare part availability.....

re: TVS Apache RTR 310 launched at Rs. 2.43 lakh

I did not expect TVS to come out with guns this big-

Some friends I spoke to were skeptical with the styling, but I’m in love. Did you guys notice the small back rest for the rider on the pillion seats??

RTR 200 brought in some segment firsts, but the 310 just blows them out of the park. Have to wait for the on-road reviews and test drives to start but, based on the spec sheet, I would trade in my 200 in a heartbeat.

Also, have to respect how TVS manages to stay competitive. I hope there isn’t major cost cutting done with the body. And, let’s hope the features are usable as opposed to being just brochure features.

I really hope this bike gets more attention.

re: TVS Apache RTR 310 launched at Rs. 2.43 lakh

TVS ain't selling stuff unless they up their service and dealership experience. The current sales staff are more interested in selling you a Jupiter rather than something like a Ronin or Apache 200 4V.

TVS needs to do something like a flagship dealership kinda thing for their Apache series. TVS makes beautiful bikes, credit is well deserved for that but they equally deserve a good load of bashing for their disinterested sales personnel and unqualified service professionals.

This has been enough said/ ranted about, but despite all of this not a single thing has changed in terms of sales and service experience. TVS really needs to up their game if they want a proper share in the premium motorcycle segment.

Any idea as to which of the mentioned features make it to the base variant priced @2.42L?

re: TVS Apache RTR 310 launched at Rs. 2.43 lakh

Well, it lived up to the hype They've done an exceptional job on the electronics package and left no stone unturned. Even a 14 lakh plus bike doesn't offer the clean electronics package this one does. But where the proof hits the pudding, it's the little things. If TVS can provide a "huge" radiator shroud, why can't they provide a protector cover for the oil filter and a simple fork oil seal protector to prolong the life of seals?

Poking out like Pinocchio's nose, this is a design blunder considering the vantage point the oil filter sits, attracting all the wrong variables on the road for it to take a beating. Worse, it can also get punctured and when it does that's disastrous.

TVS Apache RTR 310 launched at Rs. 2.43 lakh-1037x573designphilosphy.jpg

The probable debris induced puncture damage highlighted with red arrows and the area of oil filter rounded in red.

I hope TVS sincerely addresses this design blunder. Restless to play? Maybe. Restless and agitated sitting inside a service center? Heck yes!

Cheers!

I think you noticed it today. Because BMW has been selling the G310R in a similar fashion since 2018 while the 310GS gets a guard.

Don't know why manufacturers skimp on such important bits. Maybe they want to throw a bone to the aftermarket guards industry.

Trooper I've noticed the same in BMW 310R, matter of fact it's at least partially protected by the air scoops below which acts as a deterrent and not outright exposing the filter fully. On this kid, the entire filter periphery is exposed which can be disastrous considering the speeds it can do with zero protection whatsoever. There's literally a two food wide gap which is not the case with the naked 310R

Cheers!

1. The styling is spectacular and distinctly RTR(even the exhaust fits well into the front view), a job well done. Personally it doesn't fit into my "keep it low" design preferences but it is a RTR for 2023.
2. That's the bump stopper, made of a harder plastic material to stop the pillion from sliding forward under braking.
3. Some are brochure stuff but most of them are quite unique and usable.
4. Attention yes, sales I doubt. The top spec variant will breach the 3 lakh ex-showroom mark and enter the Duke's territory. The 2024 Duke follows a similar design theme, has some unique features of its own and if the pricing is within the 20-30k range of the RTR310, it will be a disadvantageous to the RTR.

Just noticed the oil filter, that's not a comforting sight. I was expecting fork covers but this was a surprising miss considering TVS has done something about them them even on the RTR 200 which doesn't even have USD forks.

That's an eyesore IMHO. Looks like they clamped on the Ronin's wind deflector in a last minute job.
Remove the top box and the wind deflector and it looks ok.
The most useful touring accessory would've been a larger tank, everything else could be managed.

Any motorcycle above 200cc shouldn't have a tank lower than 15 liters, IMHO

Coming to that wind deflector, their presentation itself shows a significantly better looking wind deflector in the aerodynamics part, hence my view of a last minute job.

I would consider this a lot if TVS can launch an adventure version of this. With tall handlebars and high GC for touring. The feature spec seems perfect for a touring motorcycle.

Especially since the 310GS isn't accessible in most areas that don't have a BMW motorrad dealership.

What a cool looking bike! Design overall is a bit 'busy' for my taste, but massive step in the right direction. Finally seeing some exciting bigger bikes, thank god!

Hope this thing sells well, manufacturers need to be encouraged to design good looking and larger-capacity bikes!
