re: Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 unveiled

From what I can see, the seat's a bit lower than the Classic and the footpegs are pushed forward a bit. Kind of a cruiser vibe

re: Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 unveiled

RE Has considerably diversified their portfolio to almost 12-15 models now. An issue that I've felt will accompany this amount of diversification is the availability of the intricate/bespoke parts specific to each model. None of the mechanical components should face this issue since they are shared across models. I feel the cosmetic parts might be a bit harder to procure from the factory in the future. I have a Halcyon Green C350, it hasn't even been a year and the Halcyon Green Color has been discontinued now.
RE provides factory painted body panels but with the ever increasing number of color and paint options I don't know if they'll continue doing so.
The reason I'm bringing this up is because almost 6 months back my front mudguard received a fairly deep scrape and a small dent. It wasn't very obvious but when I learnt that a new painted Mudguard from RE was rs 2500 I felt it would be wise to purchase it and store it, I can always replace it whenever I want to then.

RE Paint quality is very good and would be hard to match by most body shops, especially in the Halcyon green bikes where there is the Base paint and a decal which has clear coat over it.

re: Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 unveiled

Royal Enfield has taken the wraps off the new Goan Classic 350 bobber.

Here are a few highlights:

- Solo floating seat, with a seat height of 750mm. Apparently it comes with a pillion seat as standard, which can be removed easily.

- Tubeless spoke rims with whitewall tyres.

- Swingarm-mounted rear fender.

- Slashcut silencer endcan.

- Mini Ape hangar handlebar.

- To be launched on Nov. 23rd at the Motoverse.

Props to RE for slowly and steadily trying to make tubeless spoke wheels mainstream.
Also, very good looking motorcycle this.

What is the purpose of this bike? Wouldn't this cannibalize Meteor 350's sales?

Anyways, bike looks beautiful and better than Meteor 350 or even Jawa Perak to my eyes

re: Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 unveiled

Find it a little bit confusing that this very niche product based on the 350 platform gets tubeless spokes but the more expensive Bear 650 and Classic 650 doesn't?

Earlier many customers used to purchase RE bikes like the Classic 350 and then modify it to their own tastes.

Looks like RE now wants to give all the common customization options from the factory itself now. For those who want to take it a notch further, they also offer the "Build Your Own Legend" program too.

Harley Davidson used to run a similar mindset and there is a good chance that many owners would prefer these builds with warranty, rather than opting for local shops anymore.

Heard one of the journalists in a walk around say the tubeless rims will be standard.
No longer does one have to choose between aesthetics and practicality.

This fender support on the other hand, looks like an afterthought. It was there in the spy shots, I figured it'd be cleaned up in the production versions. At least the Royal Enfield embossing on it looks good, so I guess it's alright.

What a beautiful motorcycle.
Lovely colours, lovely details like the logo on the tank on some options.

The 350 J-Series engine is too slow for someone like me.
If they made a Goan Classic 650, I would loose my mind.

Adorable. very much inspired by Goa’s heritage, beaches, and vibrant culture reflecting the coastal state’s relaxed vibe. Royal Enfield for sure know how to do business. Nice colour themes, tubeless rims as standard and tyres with white walls. Looks splendid and practical. I see many people buying the classic 350 left right and centre. I was at the RTO with one of my friend and almost 11 new classic 350's were in line for registration

Just thinking out loud, please correct me if am wrong.

With the ever increasing number of variants / models / product line ups, while it might have a positive impact on the top line of a company, does it not create a challenge in availability of spares? Training of service personnel? More so in the long run?

Most of these models share parts so I do not see this to be a problem. With so many models, there is an RE for everyone. RE is the truly International Indian brand which I cant say about the Indian car manufactures yet.

I am not worried about the number of variants etc. I am worried on the service reliability. Off late some of my friends moved from regular service centres to private ones as they are doing a much better job than the service centres.

For those who remember, in the 80's a lot of foreigners used to buy Bullet's in Delhi, tour the whole of India and end their trip in Goa. They used to sell the bikes and lots of other belongings like Cameras, Audio equipment etc. at the Flea Market in Anjuna. Some of these bikes were modified by these guys. The locals bought these bike and used. Other locals also began modifying their bike in a similar manner.
