Royal Enfield Classic 500 scale model costs as much as a 100cc scooter

Royal Enfield has launched the most affordable bike in the Indian market, but it’s not what you think.

Alongside the Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield showcased a 1:3 scale model of the Classic 500 at Rider Mania 2022. This limited edition miniature model costs Rs 67,990 and the bike maker is taking bookings for Rs 2,000.

The Classic 500 scale model is available in 18 different colours. The level of detail on these bikes absolutely stunning. Like the production bike, the scale models also feature a single-seat, wire-spoke wheels and a peashooter exhaust.

This 1:3 scale model can be a great addition to your collection, especially if you have a similar road bike.

This is awesome! Its Royal Enfield saying "We made this unique and quirky thing because we CAN" .

But I think their marketing department missed an opportunity by publishing photos of this with some human standing next to it for scale. That would have added much more to the novelty factor!

Lets hope atleast these models arent plagued by the typical RE issues we are aware of, starting with rust.

Looks neat. I have the much smaller 1:12 scale model of the Classic which was worth the price back when I bought it. This one should have also had an actual working engine which would have been perfect. But that would have shot up the price too.

Here is how it looks in comparison to someone standing next to it.

I had a look at it in the Rider Mania, looks like big toy and at that size and price I expected the engine or at least electricals to work, but sadly its more like a toy with a BMW price tag, neither good for home nor as model for collection. A stupid experiment if you ask me.

Can this be purchased online, or only at Rider Mania? If available online, can someone please provide a link?

My Hero HF100 brand new on the road costs 63000 rupees.
Can't even fathom how a scale model can cost more than a functioning motorcycle.

One can easily buy a run down bullet to park where one needs an immovable bullet to be parked. I am sure we can buy a bullet with a blown engine for far less.

One can buy a Bullet with working engine in less than that.

RE clearly understands its buyers and their sentiments (read "madness")

Ask any RE Fan and they will say
""Sir RE bikes don't leak they mark their territory!! ""

Simply avoidable!
For RE fans including me, if at all we prefer to display in our living rooms, we should preferably make a poster of one or more of its original design of the 1950's or 60's pristine examples (these are aplenty), to provide the needed RE oxygen to our eyes.

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500 scale model costs as much as a 100cc scooter

One RE owner said me: If I have to give my bike for service I have to insist mechanic at RE service center that do whatever you wish to in the bike but I will pay only 5k rupees. Such is the state of owner. No wonder they can sell anything at premium because RE is a sentiment here in India . Even if auctioned this scale model is not worth it.

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500 scale model costs as much as a 100cc scooter

Very sad to read some of the comments here. I bet some of you can barely make even a paper rocket and let alone create something so intricate with so much attention to detail.

This isn't some stamped out plastic maisto toy to be had for peanuts. It is hand crafted by a few people from the design team using a mini lathe and mini cnc and a lot of milling by hand. So, before you comment on how everything in the world has to come cheap, understand the work that goes behind a project like this. They don't come out of a production line but is more in the lines of jewellery making by true artisans.

I heard RE brought 75units to the event and sold out in 1 and half days. Go figure!
