Not the OP, but in August last year I rode from Rajamahendravaram to Gangtok and back on my CB350 Hness. NH16 in Andhra is in a much better condition from Vijayawada to Orissa.You don't have to enter Rajamahendravaram and Visakhapatnam cities, therefore the traffic situation is not going to be much of an issue.

There are still some stretches in Orissa where some work is in progress on the highway but otherwise the roads are in good shape.
