Keeway has launched its entry-level offering, the SR125 in India. The commuter bike is priced at Rs 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom).



The Keeway SR125 is a retro-styled commuter bike featuring a round headlamp and a single-pod instrument console up front and a short tail section with a flat seat.

The bike is equipped with conventional telescopic fork suspension with rubber gaiters at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It gets disc brakes at both ends and a combi-brake system.

Powering the Keeway SR125 is a 125cc, single-cylinder engine that develops 9.5 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 8.2 Nm @ 7,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The SR125 is available in three colour options: Glossy Red, Glossy White and Glossy Black.

Used to see such designs as a child(long long ago) and looks like Keeway was busy launching premium(looking) models just for some TRP and eventually wants to launch some cheap Chinese bikes at commuter segment.

I wonder why would anyone be interested in such an offering when the motorcycle market in india is pretty competitive and the likes of TVS, Bajaj and Hero along with Honda have been offering very reliable and more modern products for decades now.

I really hope major players take this as inspiration to bring back older designs in new avatar!

This makes the Kawa W175 look like absolute value. While I do get the thought of a brand like Kawasaki launching into the small cc retro niche, I’m curious about Keeways marketing genius behind this at a pretty steep price point for a 125

I am really curious about the pricing, why should an entry bike buyer pay this price for a basic bike from a relatively unknown brand? What am I missing or has the price of entry level bikes taken a big climb up?

Honestly, it's a good looking bike let down by the mediocre 125cc engine. SR150 producing 15bhp with a good sounding exhaust at 1.19 lacs would have garnered lot of attention.

Agree with you. Its a better looking bike than Kawasaki. Needed a better engine, ABS and Brand

I would have to be a very bad gambler to even think of going for this motorcycle. I guess motorcycle makers do not do any research anymore
