Re: Zontes bikes launched in India; priced from Rs 3.15 lakh

These brands are not going to survive even a year in our market, where spares & service are considered utmost important.

It appears like even these guys are raising cash and are trying to expand their brand. Its not going to even remotely work in our market, where automobiles are taxed exorbitantly (100+ %) and the spares and service are taxed @28%.

Considering the way the launch is done, spares would also be taxed at 100+ %. assuming they would be imports.

I don't understand the point of launching these brands here without proper homework. Why would any brand do that? Unless they have free cash to throw away.

Aside from the reliability aspect the 350t looks really nice in my honest opinion, want to see how the engine sounds and performs, although would never buy one

The bikes look absolutely amazing.

A. S. s and reliability remain big concerns. With the current political scene, long term availability of parts also a concern

The bikes seem excellent on paper and although aren’t hugely discounted, are still cheaper than the KTMs with comparable power and a bunch of features (I LOVE the idea of an electronically adjustable windscreen). With proven engines from CF Moto iirc. And some nice looking designs.

What really remains to be seen is how much they’ll commit to this market. Just dipping a toe will kill them before launch. And going by the Instagram feeds of various bike reviewers the anti Chinese sentiment will definitely take time to get past. It’s certainly doable but it needs the kind of long-term commitment, thinking, investment, agility and (most importantly) ASS strategy that MG has displayed. And coming from the same stable as Benelli, who unfortunately haven’t displayed that in the past, one wonders if they have it in them.

Re: Zontes bikes launched in India; priced from Rs 3.15 lakh

I like new offerings always as they're at least trying to give us a breath of fresh air and sometimes it's genuinely exciting. However, if I was in the market now, I would probably let this pass due to the Chinese involvement and higher price tags. Who knows this can become a great hit too? I mean, MG has made a considerable name for itself now considering it was just an infant a few years back. Also, looking at our mobile market, it is predominantly Chinese which btw harvest a lot of our data on a daily basis.

But looking at the fate of Benelli and Keeway, things don't look too promising. Benelli has been around for years now and I don't think they're breaking significant grounds.

That cafe racer is beautiful. Reminds me of a Husqvarna Svartpilen. I would love to own this bike but I will pass on this one - I am not keen on Chinese brands. To top that off, there's a CF Moto showroom on Double road in Bengaluru and I can't tell if it's open or closed down. Everything is in tatters. I feel like this brand might go down the same route.

These bikes look good. I personally liked the 350T ADV. If Zontes can prove its worth like the MG in India, numbers might scale up for sure.

Just saw a reel, explaining the screen mirroring function in Zontes Adv. Is this an industry first and is it of any use if you have interact via the phone only.
