Like its previous/alternate edition, looks absolutely smashing. But I feel this too will find few takers because of its impracticality. The increased colour options and the supposed comfier suspension tune should help matters a bit though. Hope it finds its niche- such bikes may find few takers, but the ones who do bring them home won't settle for anything else.

It looks absolutely smashing. I would love to own it as a 2nd bike.
But looking at the practicality I doubt it will appeal to most of the buyers due to non existence of pillion seating.

A smashing bike let down by the lack of a pillion seat, even as an optional extra.

The Perak and now the 42 Bobber are the Mahindra Thar's of the retro motorcycle segment. Powerful and Stunning machines that are wanted by many let down solely by the lack of practicality.

About the practicality, it is absolutely good not having a pillion rider as this is a bobber we are talking about here. Bobber Motorcycle owners would remove parts they think were "unnecessary" to make them lighter and faster.

Few points about the bobber (actually designed for):
  • No front fender
  • Rear fender would be significantly short
  • No mirrors, headlights
  • Altered handlebars to look straight
  • The seats would be made as light and small as possible
  • Any chrome components will be removed

Re: Jawa 42 Bobber launched at Rs. 2.06 lakh

I am really not sure what the future holds for the neo-Jawa bikes in India. They are going ahead with new launches to perhaps stay in the limelight.Despite the successive launches Jawa as a relaunched brand is yet to get noticed and make its own niche among bikers for its segment. We hardly ever see any on the streets or in public places.

None of the bikes either feature in the Top 20 bikes sold list nor does the bike maker's name feature among the Top 15 two wheelers sold in India.

The sole reason for Jawa staying afloat is the deep pocket of Mahindra, its parent. And the only impact the initial launch has made is by jacking up old, used Jawa/Yezdi resale values. Also the new generation has come to know of the brand, but love and craze remains only for Jawas made by Ideal Jawa Ltd, Mysore.

Exactly what I was thinking of replying. You beat me by posting early .

Here is an example of custom jawa 250 bobber. Wish I could strip down my Yezdi Roadking like this.

Gorgeously crafted! Scores high on the aesthetic sense for sure. Even the ride and performance (as per the Perak) compliment to a good extent. However I feel it's the lack of intent from the manufacturer to create a handsome market for their product. The unavailability of a pillion seat slashes away a big chunk of enthusiasts and makes the hunky bobber only a lifestyle choice.

Re: Jawa 42 Bobber launched at Rs. 2.06 lakh

So how is this different from the Perak except in the color scheme?
I wanted to buy the Perak but the test ride proved fatal for that buying decision as this bike is not meant for fat 5'11" people, got a leg cramp within the first kilometer of the ride, looks much better than the Perak btw

Re: Jawa 42 Bobber launched at Rs. 2.06 lakh

Hello,
Has anyone registered OBDII version JAWA Bobber in Jun 2023.
There seems to be issue with RTO where the JAWA 42 Bobber is not listed in VAHAN. Need to know if it is true?

Got my hands on the Jawa 42 Bobber in Jasper Red Colour during Last November and happily munching miles ever since.

That's a looker! Better half liked the Bobber at first sight, but I didn't consider it purely from a practicality aspect.
