Finally managed to make it for a short sub 200 km ride with the Interceptor after the mods of the slip-on, stage 2 air filter and fuel x pro.
Road with a bunch of friends, some old and some new to Woody's in Kolar. There were a bunch of imports throughout our journey there and then at restaurant
The roads were great and the Interceptor was flying.
I managed to hit a top speed of 150 kmph without too much effort.
The bike feels alot more eager to rev, 100-120 kmph comes up pretty quickly.
It feels like it is breathing better now, revs quicker, feels derestricted compared to stock. On the stock setup 100 was easy but after that it took time to build speed, now 120 feels like 100 and its still got more to give. Over-all I'm super pleased with the way the Ceptor rides now. It feels like a totally different bike in terms of power, throttle response and exhaust note.
I feel like all the mods have come together well, the visor, the handle bar risers, the seat, the tubeless conversion and the performance mods.
I was running the bike on level 8 on the Fuel X, however when we came back into town and I stood behind the bike to record a video of the exhaust note while I asked a friend to rev the bike I could smell fuel - I guess that means its too rich. I have dropped it to Level 7 for now. Might need to do a plug chop to see if its running too rich but for now it feels great.
I feel I might need to overhaul the brakes, with the increased power and throttle response I feel the need for sharper braking and my current setup that I have been running from 2020 seems to be losing bite.
Despite the increased power, my riding style hasn't really changed. I still stick to about 100 kmph for the most part on the highway, get spell bound by the sight of the clouds and flowers and frequently stop to take pictures.
After crossing a horrendous traffic jam in KR Puram we headed straight to Toit in Indiranagar for some snacks and few cold ones while we waited for our friend to charge his Ultraviolet that ran out of charge just after the KR Puram bridge after which it was towed by the Meteor
(RE to the rescue lol) and dropped off at their showroom that they call a Hanger on the intermediate ring road to be recharged. There was supposed to be a meet and greet with Sagar Sheldekar which we were planning to attend after wrapping up at Toit but when we reached there to collect the UV, we were told the event was cancelled since someone who was given a UV to test ride crashed just up the road and died on the spot.
That news kind of took me aback as I wanted to ride my friend's UV after it was charged, but then again I road it anyway, can't blame a motorcyclist can you? The UV was pretty quick - tops out at 150 kmph, no gears, no clutch, no exhaust note. Just hold the horn and hope people get out of the way, the brakes were strong and should be because there isn't any engine braking. its got 3 levels of regen, about 180 kmph of real world range and costs around 5 lakhs. Double the range of the OLA but still a bit of a novelty. It makes power in a different way compared to ICE motorcycles but that was expected. My last mind blowing experience with an EV was driving a friends Nexon EV Max. This was didn't push me back in the seat or pin by neck back, the torque was electric and the brakes were phenomenal. From what i understood the bike does weight a bit and when you tip it over in a corner, it immediately scrapes footpegs and wants to lean it because of the weight, i guess that might have caught that unlucky test rider unaware.
I also managed to finally pick up an action camera. Got a great deal on a barely used GoPro 9 Black and I've already ordered a bunch of accessories. I've got a good setup for Moto-vlogging now on both helmets (one for long rides and another that I use to commute). With this I can now finally get my YouTube channel active, shoot vlogs and moto vlogs, something that I have wanted to do for a while now. Exciting times ahead!
