The Bajaj CT125X gets a circular headlamp with a shroud around it and an LED daytime running light. The bike also comes with a headlamp guard, engine crash guard and a luggage rack.

The CT125X is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes 10 BHP and 11 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The bike is equipped with conventional telescopic fork suspension at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It comes with 130 mm drum brakes as standard, but also gets a 240 mm front disc as an option.

Re: Bajaj CT125X launched at Rs 71,354

The biggest issue with Bajaj products is that the company lies in a state of perpetual confusion. Always mixing different engines with different chassis. This bike is an epic masterpiece of design and cost-cutting.

No painted mudguards
No rear body panels
Tube tyres on alloy wheels
4ah battery
And still costs more than a regular ct100
The extra 25cc compared to the ct100 won't be of much use or exciting either.
The refinement of bajaj bikes is far behind Honda, no wonder every commuter bike by Honda was 10k costlier than Bajaj. Looks and rough use will be the advantages.

Most of the cost increase is due to the tax slab difference between <100 CC and >100 but <125 CC bracket.

Bajaj addresses a different customer base. Their engines have long stroke whereas Honda's have a shorter stroke. Hence the difference in the way power gets delivered.

Rough use, highway use and delivering a decent FE are the traits of bajaj's products. Where as Honda's deliver smoothness with balanced power delivery & low top end.

What exactly could be the advantage of having alloy wheels when tyres are still tubed ones?

Very good points made. Thanks.

I have a curiosity, among the lower segment of the commuter bikes (100, 110 and 125 cc only, not beyond 125), which are the top 2-3 bikes having best (read soft and comfortable) suspension to take on potholes/broken roads/undulations etc, without transferring these to the riders' back? No other criteria, only this one .

Thanks

Expecting a road test comparo of the Pulsar 125 Neon and the newly launched CT125X.

I find that the new CT125X 's stickers are quite sober as compared to the garish stickers that they offered on Platinas, Discovers and so on till about a decade ago.

I saw one in person in Bajaj showroom. It has EVERYTHING. I mean it. Factory fitted bash plate in bottom, 12v charger near handlebar, sturdy front guards, front disc brakes, rear metal stand for adding a top box, metal tank for tank bag, light clutch, very good illumination from round halogen unit, extra wide seat for those rides with pillion(s) and cheapest among competition. In fact it can be called as pocket friendly small Himalayan scram. I'm loving this bike. Looks like a scrambler of sort. If CT150x comes I will definitely put my money to grab one.
