Honda files trademark for CB350 Brigade name in India

Honda 2-Wheelers has filed a trademark for the 'CB350 Brigade' name in India. The application is still under process.

The CB350 Brigade is likely to be a variant of Honda’s neo-retro roadster. This will be the third variant after the H'ness CB350 and the CB350 RS.

The CB350 range is powered by a 348cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 20.8 BHP and 30 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.

Meanwhile, Honda is also likely to introduce the CRF300L in India. The dual-sport motorcycle was recently spotted at a dealership.

Powering the CRF300L is a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that puts out 27 BHP and 26.6 Nm and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.

To me the name CB350 "Brigade" seems like it's referring to a military brigade. Potential competitor to the Classic 350 Signals maybe?

Honda has a great opportunity in capitalising the empty 500cc retro segment which was ruled by RE's before. If Honda launches a 500cc version of the H'ness and price it sensibly (i.e. lower than the RE 650's) then it will certainly attract many buyers who were aiming for the RE 650 for the lack of options in the market rather than launching new colour schemes for the H'ness.

Now that they have a modern interpretation of RE with the H'ness and a scrambler version of it, here's hoping they go a little more retro with this one.

Yeah Honda CL500, also CL300 or CL250 are on the way. And they should drop this year or early next year. Honda doesn't have a dedicated scrambler in their line up so this should make up for that.

A Retro HONDA bike that was sold in SriLanka and Pakistan till late 2007.
Never made it to India.
Honda, has not made elegant and Retro styling bikes for the common man, middle aged, family man, office commuter segment considering the Indian market.

Is the 350 the new Activa for Honda Bigwing?

What aren't they focusing on getting their better motorcycles to India or pricing the one's available correctly!

I've always been thinking why not the cbr250 engine in the CB. Classic looks & rather modern dohc engine. Not everyone is a fan of thumpers, there are so many who have moved away from thumpers but wanting a full size commuter option. Hope something good comes out.
