Second that. Hope it is a locally manfuactured CB500F.

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

Finally the suspense revealed. Honda is launching the CB300F today.

And... I have lost interest and changed the stream. Forza, CRF - all these speculations finally came out wrong.

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

What a damp squib. Seems like a bigger Hornet 2.0. Might as well call it 3.0

They said 18KW. Which translates to about 24 BHP. Which is way lesser than the CB300R too.

Price 2.26L Ex- for base and about 2.29L Ex- for the other model.

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

I sat through the 40 odd minutes and have given up that Honda will bring an affordable multi cylinder anytime soon. I guess I will have to pin my hopes on Bajaj-Triumph or simply pick up the Interceptor.

Even worse its the extinct air-cooled Brazilian version's engine. This thing is at best a competitor for the FZ250. Not sure why Honda targeted THAT fledgling segment.

The beefed up Hornet is pretty underwhelming for the price of ~2.26 lakh and ~2.28 lakh.

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

So they go and launch an entirely new bike instead of doing a price correction on the CB300R?

Should be interesting to see what's going to happen to the CB300R now.

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

CB300F. Damn, Honda did spring a surprise in the end, albeit a disappointing one. So much for all the talk of CRF300L, CB500X, Forza 350, CB500F....

The looks are uncomfortably close to run-of-the-mill Honda commuters. Hope they are not replacing the CB300R with this. Hopefully they will do the right thing and launch the CRF300L next.

I was half expecting CB500F to drop based on all the cues in the teasers. During presentation, when the Japanese gentleman said "inspired by CB500F" and showed its picture, I jumped! Alas I was paying more attention to the pic and not the words. What a buzzkill.

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

Looks like Honda will never be interested in the big bike market in India. They would rather do high sales with locally assembled lower segments to reap profit and keep the sales numbers minimum on the CKD & CBU units and still be happy.

Whatever, I'm an addict for their refinement and reliability. Doesnt mean I'm okay with thier strategy.

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

An air-cooled 300cc which is less powerful than the old fully faired CBR250R at even higher prices? No thank you Honda.

I thought we had no clue what Honda was launching on 8th August. But looks like even Honda had no clue what they were trying to achieve with this launch

Exactly. I mean why do they create so much hype over this? Next time nobody will be interested

re: Honda CB300F launched at Rs. 2.26 lakh

I am so sorry to say this, but HMSI is under-valuing us Indians big time. C'mon man, oil cooled 300cc based off the Hornet 2.0, that too a SINGLE CYLINDER, and an SOHC layout. Absolutely ridiculous. Its acceptable if it were a 250cc. Now the relatively new Pulsars seem like a good choice, eh?😂 Mark my words, its gonna be a 5 speed gearbox borrowed from the 2.0.

I feel so flustered about HMSI's plans for India. Trying to position themselves as a premium brand is against their company history, given the efforts Mr. Soichiro himself had put in to develop reliable and affordble motorcycles like the Titan sold in the asian markets. Fine, atleast for the reputation the BigWing department portrays for themselves, this is not supposed to be on their showroom floors. All the rumours about the mighty CRF, the CB500F, and the Forza (even this would've been a good move-irrespective of its demand) would've been a good/acceptable launch. They can re-use their tried and tested 250cc platform to develop whatever they wanted, and they would STILL find takers among the majority in good numbers. STILL it would be the best move to be made.

My take on this (me being a Honda fanboy and an owner myself) : Bring the CBR300R, price it sensibly for what it offers (instead like how you guys did it with the BS4 CBR250R- 2.4L seemed meaningless for what it offered), sit back and enjoy the praises and put this into the BigWing lineup. Get the CRF too slowly, price it SENSIBLY and watch the ADV market burn. Cut the price of CB300R and watch it take off in sales. Honda is really not taking advantage of the void left by the CBR 250R - they can literally turn around their fortunes with it. This is the peak of demand for <=300cc motorcycle space with potent performance and cutting looks.

TL;DR : HMSI is making non-sensible moves. 300cc oil cooled SOHC doesn't cut it anymore. DoA. Pulsars are still the VFM option right now.

HMSI, please come back to your senses! You can imagine how much this request means, when its coming from a fanboy and an owner too.

And finally, to give you a small chuckle :

"Logon ka C* kaatna koi inse hee seekhein!"

Efficient wiring is a feature? Isn't that supposed to be a signature Honda trait?

Please fire the marketing department.
