Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

Suzuki Motorcycles has discontinued the Intruder 150 in the Indian market.

The Intruder 150 was launched in 2017 with sub-Rs. 1 lakh price tag. The bike’s design was heavily inspired by the Intruder M800 and M1800R cruiser bikes. Despite this, it seems the Intruder 150 did not find many takers.

The Intruder was powered by a 154.9 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine borrowed from the Gixxer, which made 14.6 BHP and 14 Nm and was paired to a 5-speed transmission.

The Intruder 150 featured conventional telescopic front suspension and a monoshock at the rear. It got disc brakes at both ends along with ABS.

Poor motorcycle! Had it got 250cc engine, fatter tyres with reasonable price tag, it might have had success. That stylist top body with weak legs was an eyesore.

Indeed. With the Gixxer twins getting the 250cc treatment I was expecting Intruder to follow suit. No one is giving any importance to the cruiser segment.

Re: Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

This was one super over the top styled motorcycle and came across as the work of some juvenile novice designer craving for attention. The underwhelming engine, the tacky looking side panels, short wheelbase accentuating that bulbous rear, those puny tires, the list of shortcomings is rather long on this one.

So much plastic cladding without any functionality, is bound to fail. Imagine having to replace so much plastic after a crash. Without replacing the plastic, it would look even more ugly. A good design needs to keep the functionality aspect. There was no need for all this plastic on a 150cc cruiser.

Re: Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

Once you get over the ugly cladding, there is a comfortable motorcycle underneath. But that's the biggest issue though, it's an eyesore and looks like a half an attempt from Suzuki, and the sad part is they used the moniker 'Intruder' for this half baked product!

Re: Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

Well, it was just a matter of time.
Suzuki asked the 150cc machine to carry way too many big things on its narrow shoulders..err.. tryes, and the biggest of them all- the name INTRUDER!

The game was pretty much lost, before it actually began.

Thank heavens that thing is off sale now! By far, the worst looking motorcycle ever to go on sale in India. Noone is going to miss you, Intruder!

Good riddance!

Good riddance. It was an eye sore on the streets(atleast for me). Deserves an award for the ugliest motorcycle ever built.

Re: Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

Good heavens Suzuki put an end to such an ugly looking bike. Couldn't believe someone could think or such a design and even then there were so many people who bought it. Was surprised when my wife once suggested it to me before I got my RE Classic 500. It would have been such a fix for me if she had decided to gift me one as surprise. I loved the look and big bike feel of the original Intruder (the big bike) and Bandit, but in 150 guise with such hideous plastic extension and a tail that looked like a botched up and hurriedly finished job, Intruder 150 was a big disappointed me, especially after they came up with such an elegant and smart Gixxer design which was further complemented by SF version.

Re: Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

It's bulbous, abnormal and roly-poly body styling was quite an eyesore from Day One for all those who look for pleasant aesthetics. And this body was underpowered with its power train of just 150 cc.

I would welcome its departure from the scene, but at the same time would sympathise with owners who would need spares for the upkeep of these abnormal body trims. The spares of these body trims may not be available some five to ten years hence.

Uh.. as someone looking to buy a Gixxer SF 250 this is a little concerning for me. Any chance Suzuki might be discontinuing it, seeing as its sales figures have been less than decent?

Rest in peace. What an eye sore it was. Wonder which designer from Suzuki's stable sketched it, has completely missed the basics. They couldn't sell a single piece in 2022

Re: Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

Looked like a bike on too many steroids, the cladding and big bike looks with the puny tyres and the small engine was an eyesore to begin with, plus the engine never impressed anyone.

Re: Suzuki Intruder 150 discontinued in India

As much as I laughed at an Intruder whenever I saw one its petty sad to see it die this way, it was a bike used by Jesus in Bakuon (The original one not this plastic crap).
