Re: Ownership Review | 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 | Racing Blue

After almost a year of waiting Bike N Biker finally procured the original GIVI top box mount for me from Malaysia. The mount is available with them for Rs 7500 and mine is the first they have fitted

Finally took delivery of My Black Aerox 155 at Amravati, yet to bring her home as it would be a 150 Kms ride to Nagpur, incessant rains topped by workload.

Possible to post a few more pics in daylight? Interested to know the mount points used.

Saw one with a topbox mounted in Kolkata last week, but went too fast before I could figure out what equipment was used on that bike.

Re: Ownership Review | 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 | Racing Blue

Took the Aerox in for second free service today, with just 1288 kms on the odo. Usage has been less, with only city runs.

Excellent service from Denz Motors, Trivandrum. Got the vehicle back within 30-40 minutes with the oil changed and brakes checked.

Didn't get the scooter washed at the service center, since I had to take it for a pending maintenance wash at the detailing center anyways. Took both our vehicles in -

Hi Crazy Driver, do you remember how much sq.ft was needed for PPF? I was quoted 20-25k ( ) for Llumar PPF in Pune, on phone conversation they estimated Aerox needs 30 sq.ft?

Also, does anybody know how to source a crash guard for Aerox?

Looks well built! How has your experience been so far in terms of utility and possible changes to riding dynamics?

Also looking at the image here, I get the impression that the top box obstructs the (already tiny) tail light considerably for motorists perched atop their SUVs behind you.

Never mind the question about the tail light. Just noticed that the top box comes with its own tail light.

Re: Ownership Review | 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 | Racing Blue

Having driven my Aerox for 225 km I have a few queries to the more experienced owners regarding the machine.

- Is there a shudder/vibration present for others while accelerating slowly, around 3k RPM? Usually around 8-16 kmph.
It's not as pronounced as on the cheaper scooters.
Is this related to a faulty Idle RPM tuning?

- Are there any accessories like the modified suspension or knuckle guards available in Bengaluru? If not, would someone be able to recommend a 3rd party store?

Re: Ownership Review | 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 | Racing Blue

I think this is a flop scooter that has been forgotten by all concerned, buyers, company and even team bhp has hardly any discussion on this. So, I've given up on having any kind of accessories or hoping for any improvement for this bike. Such a shame as it is a really good package but completely destroyed by lack of interest.

I have 3 bikes, Aerox, Highness and Ather. Aerox is getting the least use because I find it a chore to ride on Bangalore's completely broken roads. It hurts me to say this, but we have bought a lemon.

^ You might be right about the model not being popular but I don't think it's a lemon, by definition.

I agree that there is a limited discussion on Aerox, but I think it's price is a contributing factor to it. Same can be said about SXR 160. Only enthusiasts are going to buy it.

Regarding accessories, bunch of accessories are available for Aerox already, like suspension upgrades for both, front and rear, rear disk set up etc.
Check out dismotech, the service is atrocious, but they're based in BLR, so you can visit their place and get more information. Also, check out Aerox 155 Chennai group on Instagram. I got my KYB suspension from them, they have suspension and other accessories too, quite reliable.

Recently, I approached the Detailing Mafia store in Cochin for a quote. I was looking at PPF wrapping only the tank of my Suzuki SF250. This would prevent tank bag induced scratches. They said it would come to between Rs 7 to 8K! So Rs 20K for a scooter doesnt seem to be off base. All things considered, PPF prices are frightfully expensive!

Dr CD can confirm how much he actually paid for the PPF.

jaganm, I think you are mixing the lack of sales success with a problematic product i.e. a lemon. If your Aerox handles Bangalore's bad roads the same way that every other Aerox which Yamaha makes, then it isnt a lemon. Its simply a scooter with a stiff suspension.

Also, we shouldnt confuse TBHP discussions with actual sales successes in the market. For example, there are so many TBHP threads on the Honda CB350. In comparison, we hardly see any threads or posts on the newish Royal Enfield Classic 350s or Bullet 350s. But if we look at the sales numbers, the Hondas sell less than 10% of the more popular, and arguably better, Royal Enfield 350s.

Also keep in mind that the Aerox isn't sold in most of the Yamaha showrooms and because of this sales are limited. Very strange strategy from Yamaha tbh. As far as I'm aware even now it's not available for sale in all of Mumbai !

And it's not like the Aerox 155 is a slow seller either, while I oddly couldn't find data on Aerox sales anywhere (neither on TeamBHP or other websites) we do know that Yamaha cannot seem to meet the excessive and rather unexpected demand for the Aerox.

I remember Shumi mentioning that the review of the Aerox on Powerdrift was delayed because they literally could not get their hands on one as they were flying off of dealership stockyards and the bookings almost never seemed to stop.

This is the same problem with the Honda CB350, people want the product. They absolutely love it and are shoving cash and cheque books in the faces of dealers to buy the product but the manufactures says no and restricts booking to certain special dealerships.

Even the aftermarket support for the Aerox has developed like anything, from what I can see the aftermarket support for the Aerox is only beaten by the likes of Royal Enfield and Dominar.

SPOTTED! Mono Shock absorber on Yamaha Aerox at the service centre. One rider said he can arrange for upgraded shock absorbers (TWIN UNIT) imported from Thailand but that would cost Rs 15,000. "Very comfortable" as per him. I have let that be, for now
