Re: Ownership Review | 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 | Racing Blue

To all current and potential Yamaha Aerox owners, I would like to share that proper suspension upgrades for two wheelers and value for money, do NOT go hand in hand. This is applicable not just in India, but around the world.

Serious suspension upgrades have to be looked at differently. Think of it as a lifetime investment of sorts.

Haha Neil - that clarification was quite timely. I was just going to reply to CD's post that that's pretty rich money for the cost of the bike.

But I understand what you're saying - I guess.

Axe77, the problem is always the KPI of (Suspension upgrade cost) / (Total cost of the two wheeler) !

Taking my own example, when I bought my pre-owned Triumph Street Triple 675, it came with an Ohlins rear suspension upgrade. That better suspension (and the adjustability that it provided) really changed my mindset on upgrades to a bike and their corresponding perceived values. Had the bike not come with the Ohlins, I might have taken a few years to upgrade the suspension. In hindsight, I may not even have, only on account of the super steep sticker price. Now that Ive used better aftermarket suspension for 3.5 years, I tell everyone to go for it, if they feel a need for it. The right suspension, when tuned for the rider just changes the game.

The only problem is swallowing the bitter pill of the price and overcoming our predisposition for VFM.

I got the Flash X Hazard Module installed on my Aerox today. Its a plug and play device and the installation was a quick 5 minute job.

Re: Ownership Review | 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 | Racing Blue

Anyone been on any long trips with the Aerox? I'm planning on a 1200km+ trip later this month and I want to know if there's anything I should look out for or be prepared before heading out.

Also, how in tarnation do you install a mobile phone holder to this scooter?! There's no handlebars. Any advice?

I too have planned a long trip covering almost 2700kms in June and have been wanting to do it on my Aerox. But before I could get going on it, I wanted to understand the behavior and performance on a maiden run so I undertook Bangalore - Tirupati/Tirumala - Bangalore last month covering 569kms in the same day on my Aerox and few things that I can confidently say is that it's a mile muncher, offers stress free riding experience, is absolute steady at highway speeds and takes those corners on ghat sections wonderfully

Now I am more than convicted to undertake long journeys on the Aerox

Just take adequate breaks in between(keeping the weather in mind) apart from that the Aerox is an outright performer, no doubt on that. So I'm sure you're going to have a great time riding it.
My best wishes for you on your trip, Ride Safe!

Thanks for sharing that with me. I wonder which holder it is. It looks steady enough. Any idea on the make or model?

So its been a long time coming. Have a-lot of parts coming in and the first one us this. The updated suspension from the Indonesia spec Aerox. I rode the KYB suspension and honestly it didnt feel worth the 17500. So somehow through my contacts found the updated suspension. Installing them today. Have placed an order for 6 more sets. If someone wants it let me know.

I did a quick ride of the KYB SUSPENSION and here are my views.

Looking forward to your first impressions. I'll take one set too if it's worth the upgrade!

Just to be clear - this is the replacement spec for India and will not void warranty cover right?

Nothing will void warranty. I just swapped to this setup on my own DIY. Have documented everything. Riding out in the evening and the review should be up tonight. These are definitely softer than stock since the stock ones come from a ray z and these are specific to the Aerox. Yamaha I lans to launch them but when they will come is anyones guess. I luckily got my hands on these and have placed an order for more sets. Costs around 3800 to 4000 plus shipping for the set. Definitely cheaper than the KYB. Could compress the shocks by hand unlike the stock setup.

Sweet! Would love a set if available. I got a chance to test the Indonesia spec suspension in March and it is certainly felt softer than the stock ones.
