I heard from a couple of sources that the Honda CB500X has received a price correction in India and now costs 5.79 L ex-showroom. However, I could not find any relevant information online.

Yes. It should now be around 6.75 OTR in MH.

This is apparently for limited units - seems like stock clearance.

Which might be good news! The 2022 CB500X may be on its way.

CB500X dispatched only 70 units last year - a very poor response for a model not even restricted to their Topline network. But glad if they get around to acknowledging the main issue with the bike and fixing it - the pricing. Not even the ardent supporters of the brand were willing to purchase this bike at the price Honda demanded!

Honda has done this sort of turnaround earlier too with the CBR650F. Worked well for them!

I think the price is still very high even after slashing ex showroom price by 1.1 lakh.

In my opinion, if on road price is 5.5 lakhs, then probably it's worth considering. Anything beyond this is just not worth.

Honda is slowly coming to terms after almost an year of launching the bike. Hope they will revisit the price after another 10-12 months looking at their poor sales. Fingers crossed.

That would be wishful thinking friend. As GoBlue mentioned this is most probably a stock clearance for the old model stocks. Once the old stock is exhausted, prices should go back to the old pricing and maybe even more with the updated 2022 model as per Honda policy

Yup. no way Honda is slashing the price AND bringing in all those changes in the 2022 model.

If you need any more convincing that Honda hasn't changed its colors, just look at the pricing of BS6 CB300r; price uplift AND no more Showa BP SFF.

Wow that’s more than 1.3L slashed off the current OTR pricing here in Bangalore and it still looks overpriced.

My mind is unable to accept 7L for a 500cc motorcycle.

Don't even get me started on the CB300R. Even after localization, the price is still high compared to the outgoing BS4 variant.

My thoughts goes towards those poor owners who may/may not have painfully made up their mind to shell over 8+ Lakhs; would HMSI return the 1.1L? Might be a good gesture though. I will still say 5.5 OTR is well priced, but nothing more than 6L.

That's wishful thinking. Heavy discounts can happen in many other businesses as well.

The people who bought this bike did so weighing all their options and decided the bike was worth the money.

I have no doubt Honda will bring up the price again once the updated model hits our shores. I so wish this was cheaper. It's an almost perfect second bike for me. But even with the discount it's not for me.

This is not a stock clearance. Revised pricing is applicable to 2022 manufactured bikes.

Honda does not have unsold inventory of 2021 manufactured bikes.

Now whether “2022 manufactured bike” means it’s the old model or the new model announced recently (with USD forks/dual discs), is unclear as of now.

Anyone who is booking, please get this clarified.

You know something is overpriced when 1.3L discount brings the price down to what still feels overpriced by about 1.3L.

Clarified.

2022 manufactured bikes, but not the facelifted ones. No clarity yet if / when the facelift comes to our shores. Honda has a good number of excess kits to assemble and dispose of before that happens!

Honda's premium pricing has backfired royally in this instance, as was previously seen from the dispatch figures. The good news is that this discount seems to have generated some interest in the showrooms.

Had recently enquired for Africa Twins, as per SA, there won't be any changes on the 2022 MY. No clue on the prices.

On the subject, there's no inventory for CB500X here in Gurgaon atleast.
