Honda has launched the new Vario 160 scooter in Indonesia and the Vario line-up of scooters has been in production in that country for more than a decade. The new 160cc Honda Vario will soon join the 125cc and 150cc variants of the Vario scooters in Indonesia.

Speaking about the design, the Honda Vario 160 is not a proper maxi-scooter but sports a large fender that makes it look like a maxi-scooter. This design is reminiscent of the Suzuki Burgman range of scooters in India.

Apart from that, the Honda Vario 160 also features a flat footboard for added practicality. However, unlike the Suzuki Burgman range of scooters, the Honda Vario 160 sports a very sharp styling with a raised tail section for sporty looks.

I would say this is a higher CC scooter, and doesn't compare with AEROX. AEROX has the R15 chassis (X Center Motif) and engine which makes it behave like a bike. Leaning on corners is such a delight. So basically, the Honda Vario 160 would go against the Aprila SXR 160. I won't say it's bad because the leg space is an added plus and much demanded by buyers, but 'handling-wise' both are different. The HONDA does look great, I must say!

Sorry but the Aerox does not share the chassis with the R15. R15 has a motorcycle chassis where the swingarm is behind the engine whereas on the Aerox the engine is the swingarm like a typical scooter chassis.
If the vario has a liquid cooled engine then it's straight up competition for the Aerox. Fyi neither scoots are maxi scooters which some people are wrongly categorising. The nmax and pcx variants are the maxi versions of these scoots from Yamaha and Honda respectively. These are more on the sporty side of scooters.
