My shoe size is 9.5UK. I felt the lever to be long.
If you're 9.5 or below and have been used to resting your foot on the lever instead of on the pegs, you'll need to learn to move your foot forward to shift up or down.

The entire headlight and Tripper Dash assembly can be moved up or down. This has been homologated for both with and without a front number plate.

The owner's manual for the Himalayan is now officially available on the website.

https://www.royalenfield.com/in/en/s...owners-manual/

The manual contains in-depth technical information, along with guidance on basic do-it-yourself (DIY) maintenance.

Background setting Auto works well, with a very slight delay which I think is intentional so that it doesn't keep switching to dark and light mode.

I hate this headlight twister thingy.
I have short thumbs and I find it difficult to reach this thing quickly.
I feel manufacturers should not change some of these things. Just make them standard and leave them be.
Glad someone else finally mentioned that. Carpal tunnel is already a huge deal with a lot of smartphone usage and this only exacerbates that.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Did anyone get a paperback manual or was it just a quick start guide? I only got that folding piece of unwieldy paper called quick start guide at the time of delivery and am not a big fan of softcopy/ pdf versions of the manual.

Working with that mode button and joystick to figure out the screen as a trial and error is not something I want to do.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Got my H450 Kaza Brown delivered on Monday morning. Ownership thread coming up in a couple of days.

Took the bike to work today (60 kms to and fro) and enjoyed the early morning (0630 hrs) commute. The suspension is surely a gem and the bike just glides over bad patches.

The return stretch from office to home was in the mid afternoon so not much traffic except past HSR and Silk Board. The radiator fans came on a few times but the heat did not bother me.

I am unable to connect my phone to the console. Why it needs Wifi and not Bluetooth for connection is what beats me The dealership connected the phone during delivery but after a while I lost connection and the app just hangs everytime I try and connect. Will get it checked when I have to go and get the plates installed in a couple of days.

Clocked ~100 kms already.

Enjoying the bike and looking forward to some nice long trips.

Accessories will be available from Jan 2024.

I received mine as well, and the suspension is simply brilliant! Glides over any terrain effortlessly. Engine heat doesn't seem to be as much of an issue as some people have mentioned. However, if you ride the bike in shorts or mini skirts, you might feel some heat on your legs.

By the way, I observed a noticeable pull to the right! Has anyone else experienced this with their bikes?

I have done the same 100KM till now.

Maybe with shorts yes but I've never worn miniskirts, let alone go riding with them, so can't comment

Nope, didn't notice this on my bike. But if you carefully observe the handlebar, is it aligned a little more to one side? The windscreen also is slightly tilted to the right, isn't it? I felt this on the test ride bike also. Thanks to my OCD, these things stand out for me.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Looks like Himalayan450 won some Indian MotorCycle of the Year 2024. I wonder how can they come up with that year part when 2024 itself not reached.

Scrambler 400x is second and KTM Duke 390 is third.

Yes! Maybe that's why I feel this way? Which side is your bike handlebar aligned to? The one on my bike is tilted to the right! Lets not even get started with OCD Try putting the bike on the main stand and let it idle on first gear - come and tell me what did you observe

P.s Where is the tool kit for this bike?

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

So, I tested the Himalayan 452 KAZA BROWN for a good 1 hour and here are some observations

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed-img_8191.jpg

ON ROAD PERFORMANCE
- It's Fast. Happy to go high speed, can handle highways well
- The low end torque is enough to drag you through slow moving traffic.
- If you don't notice the RPM meter, you'll not care about the RPMs.

VIBRATIONS
- Slightly buzzy, but doesn't vibrate. I'd give that to the single cylinder engine characteristic.
- Not a deal breaker at all.

STALLING/KNOCKING
- Did not stall, but did feel knocking at slower speeds but there is a reason to that.
- The torque is so beautifully distributed, that you almost forget to drop down gears in traffic and you find yourself moving through traffic in 4th gear till the rpms drop and it knocks. It's then you're reminded that you're in 4th and need to shift down. It's the rider, not the machine.

GEAR BOX
- Felt some knocks in the gearbox while shifting
- Could be because of a learning gap on my end
- But the rev band will require practice to get accustomed to.

HEATING
- Wasn't monitoring it, but did not experience any heating issue, which means there wasn't any considerable amount of heat bothering me enough to pay attention towards it.

OFF-ROAD PERFORMANCE
- Glides through pits and bumps smoothly.
- It's heavy and long, will need practice to get any agility with this baby. Same goes for in traffic performance. Manoeuvring will not come instinctively. She's versatile but not too agile.

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed-img_8197.jpg

EXHAUST SOUND
- I can't believe it's coming from me, but when the guy came to hand over the bike to me, and I couldn't see but only hear, sounded like an auto-rickshaw pulling in.
- I don't know if it was the reverb in the area or something else, but for once it did sound too dry to me.
- Although, it did not sound like that on road.

NAVIGATION & PHONE CONNECTIVITY
- The issue I shared earlier, persists with this one as well.
- iPhone is not connecting to the console. The app is up to date, the iOS too.
- More people are reporting the same issue on youtube help video of the cluster.
- Also, did you know there is a battery saving mode in the RE App, which will reduce the mirroring quality and improve battery backup of the phone. Seems this was added in a recent update (a positive sign)

RIDING MODE
- Could not switch between the modes on the go.
- Had to stop the bike and only then was able to switch.
- Seems that is the way to do it.

CONCLUSION:
I like the versatility of the bike, the tech will need updates especially the console.
My booking stays. I'd like to place a bet on this crazy wild horse!

Thanks! The process to download the manual requires filling a form where email and mobile number are mandatory - seriously?

Back to my earlier question - have any owners received a paperback manual or was it only a quick start guide?

You don't have to fill the correct details. Fill some random numbers (those pesky personal loan and credit card callers will do just fine) and you will get the download link right away. Nothing is sent to your email or phone.

I received the quick start guide, not the conventional owners manual book.
