By the way this is my pulsar. Been 18 years and still my daily ride. Converted to DC and all LED setup. It proves that age is just a number and still rides like one.

Absolutely Rahul I remember the bike from our school and it had that unique color as well. Glad to know you still have it and in such pristine condition too!

Check the link I quoted above, it has videos and info which will answer most questions except the price.
Its a Pulsar not a Dominar/Dominar derivative.

Re-posting the link for better visibility.

re: Bajaj Pulsar 250, launched at 1.38 lakh

Off late, I am seeing these test mules with tail-bags strapped onto pillion seats, happened thrice at different times, different days. Don't know its purpose. And most of these were being ridden at sedate pace unlike most test mules be it cars or motorcycles.

Wives are so controlling, i can understand you situation . Although i have been using a Pulsar NS for the last 9 years and always laughed at RE, i would say that you should have a look at the new RE Classic. My opinion of RE changed with the Interceptor and the new RE Classic is great. I can't comment on after-sales service. I think the story is the same across most brands. Once you are done with the warranty period, hunt and settle on a 3rd party service center.

Haha, no man, this is an issue of my own creation. Have 3 bikes occupying space at home, it's reasonable to expect me to get rid of at least one before buying another! A BHPian has already reached out to me to take one off my hands, hopefully that'll work out.

No man, am done with RE. Personally I love my TB I've gone literally to the four corners of the country with it. The issue is the attitude of RE service. Always packed, always a shoddy job and always the same "take it or leave it". Even simple issues I've had to follow up with and sometimes escalate to the RSM. Was blown away by the Interceptor too, it's a fantastic bike no doubt. But on the other hand, the several reports of Himalayan failures on this forum and the same apathetic (or should that be pathetic) response from RE makes me think the company's attitude to Indian customers hasn't changed, only their marketing has!

Trust me, I'm not a fan of Bajaj either. I'd much rather go with Hero, because theirs are the only service centers I've seen spread all over the country during my bike trips. But looks like Bajaj is the only one getting ready to make an affordable 250cc and (hopefully) soon a 300.

I'm waiting for a reliable 300cc that I can use as a city bike and for highway rides. Currently a Pulsar 180 does the commute role and a RE Thunderbird for long rides. Both are over 12 years old though and am looking for a modern bike, but one that can replace both.

Reliable means any Enfield is automatically out (had more than enough of their pathetic service centers and hallowed 'brotherhood of riders' nonsense!) Needs to be low maintenance and I can't afford the likes of the BMW 310. Don't want anything with a fairing or a half-fairing. What would be ideal is a 250/300cc Hero Impulse/Xpulse or a naked version of the TVS Apache 310. But looks like the Pulsar will get there first.

Bajaj has never occupied the 'premium' or 'exciting' mindspace for me. But 10 years with the 180 have been trouble-free and despite trying hard to think beyond Bajaj, it looks like they are the only ones coming up with a naked, affordable, easily maintained 300cc+. Somehow the Dominar 400 never seemed to click, I wonder why? On paper it seems a great value for money bike. Any thoughts? Personally I find the Pulsar NS design much more appealing than the Dominar. Perhaps most people think so too?

Anyway, looking forward to the NS250 and hoping in true Bajaj fashion a +50cc "upgrade" will come soon Time to sell/give-away the P180 and the TB then.

PS: Also, the wife won't let me buy a new bike unless I get rid of the ones already taking up space at home!

Dominar 400 did not click for me as well. I had a Pulsar 220 for about 6 years and it perfectly did everything well. IT was as good an all rounder as one could get. City commutes, Long distance touring, good mileage, and enough grunt as well!
I had to let it go when I became a father and did not find the time to ride it. Now things are improving again with the kid slowly becoming more independent and asking me to go get a bike again.

On that note, I wouldn't mind taking the P180 off your hands when you decide to give it away !

Looks like a successor to the Pulsar 220, expect them to price it on par or even slightly less than NS200

Thanks for capturing it.
The straight looks of pulsar 220 is something I like, but for me the side profile is something that is half baked attempt. Not to offend any owners or fans.

I think going by the sales number and the pure loyalty of brand pulsar, the pulsar 220 will still be continued is my gut feel. Currently the NS200 and 220 is almost priced equal and 250 for any reason will be priced above this. There is a gap of 30K rupees between NS and RS so 250 could fit in between this segment, with 250F touching the RS200 price and naked a 10K less to the 250F.

re: Bajaj Pulsar 250, launched at 1.38 lakh

Apache 200: 21 PS/17 Nm, 1.33 lac

Pulsar 250: 24.5 PS/21.5 Nm, 1.38 lac

Duke 250: 30 PS/24 Nm, 2.28 lac

Seems like an ace launch by Bajaj, final nail in the coffin of the weird Duke 250 too I'd think. Features are nice, just the lack of 6th gear brothers me.

re: Bajaj Pulsar 250, launched at 1.38 lakh

I really like how the N250 looks but the specs are disappointing. Beyond the looks, I fail to see the appeal of this over the FZ25.

The FZ has larger dia forks and bigger tyres, and still weighs a good 10 kg less, and also comes with dual channel ABS.

The pulsar has a bit more power on paper (let's see how it translates into real world performance), the slipper clutch and a cool looking instrument panel. Oh, yeah, I guess the F250 has the fairing crowd covered.
