Royal Enfield is tapping into their history and heritage with the name 'Super Meteor'. The name is a homage to the following bike. I think that is a great brand strategy for overseas markets.

Overseas, maybe - where there is no Meteor 350 on sale. However in India, I don't think it is a good idea at all.

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

I still believe that the bike is not going to be called the Super Meteor. No automaker tries to link a higher-priced vehicle with a vehicle of a lower segment, while the vice versa can be seen, with smaller and lower segment products banking on the name of the higher segment vehicle (We don't see Maruti naming the Swift something like Super Alto, and yet when it came to their crossover, they named it Vitara Brezza, a call back to their premium Crossover which is the Vitara).

Royal Enfield has already trademarked a few names, which included the name Shotgun. Shotgun fits the entire Bullet, Made like a gun tagline, while also sounding very good. I think most probably this will be the name, and certainly not the Super Meteor.

These are the clearest spy shots yet. Almost no camo at all. It looks like a bigger Meteor, really beautiful. Wish the person could capture front too.

What's with that tail lamp? It's mounted awkwardly so far up. Meteor too has this aberration. Traditional cruisers have it no more than a couple of inches above the rear plate. Thankfully they didn't mutilate the new Classic rear end this way.

I know. If the number plate is fixed between that and the turn indicators, it wont look awkward. What I noticed was considerable soot at tailpipe end. That's odd

The overall package looks awesome. I am no fan of Royal Enfield and wouldn't touch one even if it was last motorcycle on the planet. But, this kind of makes me want one. I will be keeping a close eye on this one. I think the new 650 cc motor from Royal Enfield is pretty reliable. What do the owners have to say - any leaks, seepages, engine blown issues so far?

I'm house keeping an INT 650 for a friend who is away on work. I would say that by far, the engine is the most reliable and fun component in the INT 650 .The suspension absolutely sucks and cost cutting is evident on other parts of the motorcycle. Hopefully, the Cruiser based on this Motor can remedy the other shortcomings of the INT 650. And like you, I do not dare own an RE, but this upcoming cruiser looks Interesting. If only RE invested half as much in training their service personnel and showroom Experience, as they do on Marketing, they will have a lot more folks handing over their money to RE!

Royal Enfield finally got the good frame, good style and good engine together. Finally a RE to add to the garage after my 95 Bullet.

That doesn't look like soot. If you zoom into the picture, the actual exhaust pipe(the inside pipe) is not black.
This looks more like a discoloration on the plating probably because of the heat at that spot.

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

2nd picture has the name masked with white tape, 3rd picture shows protruding engine like in 650 twins.

I had done long test ride of 650 twins in 2019 before deciding against it given that it wasn't comfortable coming from thunderbird.

I asked for 650 engine on thunderbird chassis and the showroom manager simply said no. I'll be looking forward for TD to see comfort, see whether RE's QC has been improved and make a decision. But it's heart over head so it'll be mostly done deal even if few issues are there

The ground clearance seems to be woefully less!! I have scratched rear brake lever of my 2009 TBTS many times while turning right...in this, the whole muffler would have it...
