re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

That tachometer seems to be the same as in Hunter 350, looks very misplaced for there most premium bike, good to see tripper showing up.

Too heavy though, need to see how it masks it's weight while on the move, would be a pain to move in and out of parking, the lower GC should definitely help.

With tubeless tyres (thank god), tripper as standard and USD, I am guessing this is definitely going to command a minimum of 50K premium on top of twins.

Exhaust should have been painted black, would have added more character, i hope it heats a bit lesser then the one they had on Twins.

Damn! 19" front and 16" rear alloy rims, and decent looking alloys at that.

That puts paid to any hopes of alloys for the Interceptor 650. Perhaps aftermarket is the way to go after all. Fingers crossed!

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

The size and padding of the pillion seat seems dismal, even thinner than the interceptor's..sore bums galore! I don't get why RE designers keeps insisting that the pillion seat must not be as comfortable as the front, are they vouching for only solo riders to be the primary buyers? Even if that was to be so, what's the harm in providing a better rear seat? It's not that high cost an item that would push the pricing envelope either.
Was hoping they would launch 18 inch alloys too but alas. Still hoping for the other 650's be launched with 18 inchers..

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Hope we don't need to wait for Spring '23 when it would be launched in European countries. It seems that the production line is ready and some inventory has been stocked up at their Chennai factory. This looks super.

Looks super cool. However, they should have retained the twin pod instrument cluster (updated version of course). I am not a fan of this Meteor pod. Looks very busy. That said great looking motorcycle

The bike looks really impressive and premium and far better than some renders that I came across. The all important question for me is how much of the parts and accessories are compatible with my Interceptor, especially that LED headlamp and seat.

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Looks much nicer than I expected, considering all the ‘sneak’ pics over the last year. The only thing which looks a smidge out of place are those wheels. Spoked wheels would’ve been great with that although I know there’s massive demand for these alloys. And maybe a regular fork instead of upside down. But 241 kilos with the same heart as the other 650s is a heavy price to pay (pun intended) for a different form factor. Performance will really take a beating. One wonders how those rims will also hold up under duress. And that low ground clearance seems painful for, Bangalore speed breakers at least. Time will tell..

Attached are the specifications of the bike!

Good to see USB port included by the company as standard.

There's no tachometer! There's nothing that could be retrofitted to our 650s and I'm not a cruiser fan.

Happy riding,

My exact thoughts about the rear seat. For a Cruiser, why can't they provide decent 2 seater setup. Its up to the rider to decide if he will go solo or 2. That said most of the higher capacity bikes are 1+1/2 setup now a days.

This is the only RE I can see adding to my garage. Everything seems well proportioned but for the rear seats. The variant with the pillion backrest looks too good.

I will wait for the reviews to be out before opening the wallet.

Sorry should have said Speedometer, my bad!

Yes you are right, overall either we upgrade to this, or hope that RE will launch the refreshed version of interceptor as seen in the spy shots with the Alloys atleast.

Lovely balanced looking bike, the painstaking ~ 2 years time has paid off, good to see such a beautiful design after the unusually long wait. Good job once again RE.

The bike looks smashing but the 135mm ground clearance combined with that narrow pillion seat makes this bike unusable for majority of Indian folks.

Looks perfectly proportioned but I see myself being happier with moving a scale model of it's design beauty on my desk rather than struggle with this weight in practical Indian conditions.
