Ampere Electric, the electric two-wheeler brand under Greaves Electric Mobility, has expanded its popular Ampere Magnus range with the new Ampere Magnus EX. The large family electric scooter features a host of improved and innovative features, along with what the company claims is best-in-class comfort and functionally superior performance. The Ampere Magnus EX gets a range of 121 km on a single charge, as certified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), and is priced at ₹ 68,999 (Ex-showroom, Pune).

Have visited the showroom today. They have only light blue colour in stock (personally I didn't like the color). Besides blue, the scooter comes in Graphite Black and Red colours.

The only difference between the older Magnus pro and the Magnus EX is the battery AH power. Magnus Pro comes with 60V 32AH whereas the Magnus EX comes with 60V 38AH which gives more battery back up to 120km per charge (as the company claims). Everything else is exactly as per Magnus pro (they say that there is no more Magnus pro now, but only Magnus and Magnus EX variant).

OTR Rs.85000/- in Kerala (may get couple of thousands discount).

Has anyone purchased the Ampere scooter(s) and can share feedback? How does it fare vis-a-vis Ather? Areas of problems/issues noticed across the ownership - any feedback would be much appreciated.

We have purchased an Ampere Magnes Ex in the family. It's been a week since the scooter was delivered at my hometown (Chennai), so still to test it out personally. My parents are quite satisfied by it, although the slow(er) speed is something they are yet to get used to.



Key specifications (as per company, not actuals)
- Max speed 50 +/- 3 kmph
- Charge time 6 to 7 hours
- Range 121 kms (service advisor told them to expect around 80odd)
- On-road price 83,000 inr

Hopefully I'll get time to do a proper ownership update in the near future.

No I haven't but they were looking quite elegant in White color. Where? Looks like Dominos Pizza did a mass buy of such EV scooter for their deliveries. So, I happened to ask one of the boys on his opinion. He said top speed is 50 Kmph, range is about 80 Km & takes about 4-5 hours for full charge.

Quite possible Ampere did a minor upgrade in battery wattage when selling to public.

They have different models, the dominos used scooters are one of their cheapest lithium powered scooters, IIRC magnus is their top end model.

Hi,
I am planning to buy an Ampere Magnus EX, there is one in olx, 5000kms driven, 7 months old with a 3+2yrs warranty. The asking price is 70K, and on the road price of a new one is 86.5K.

Could you please share your input on how is your scooter and any major pros and cons?
