Are they going to launch or not? There's basically zero hype for a scooter that's going to compete with Ola.

Watch here. The event\presentation will start in 5 minutes.

In the meantime, the website has just been updated:

https://www.simpleenergy.in/

It has 2 battery packs, one fixed and one portable. Combined they have 4.8kWh of total storage.
203km real world range in eco mode.
236km range in ideal IDC test conditions.

The Simple One is launched at ₹109999 ex showroom (not including subsidies).

Launched at Rs 1.09L
236km IDC range
105 kmph top speed
0 to 40 in 2.95s
30L boot space
Very well priced, didn't get to see the actual scooter properly.
Disappointed with the presentation, tbh. Was very poorly done.

Booked Simple one, but didn't get any confirmation message ..:Frustrati

Lets see how they respond.

What i liked over ola - better battery capacity and its removable.

Of the two scootes launched today, this has impressed me more. Concentrated of realworld issues than fancy things. Two batteries is an interesting feature. People who wanted removable batteries will love this. Although I find the over scooter design overdone, it's not bad. The real world range should be easily 150kms with both batteries. pricing is also wonderful. Have to see how the actual scooter is.

I guess so - based on the subsidy available for a given state. They said they will update the website with expected price per state - but don't see it anywhere yet. Delivery begins Jan '22 though.

For same reasons, i booked one too. Though their website shows pre-booking order number, there is no email received in our mail box as such.
Let's see

I booked probably before any one. 5.01PM. Even I didn't get any confirmation email or SMS. But I got email later after two hours I guess.

I don't see cancel option on their site. Expected that to be there. Just in case..

Any way, I liked their presentation, wanted to support new company, new start-ups and hence I booked. 110 kg kerb weight means lot of metal must be there than just plastics.

One question I have. What is going to be final price at bangalore.109000, does it include fame 2 subsidy. If not otr price must be around 66,000.

Am I wrong?

Fame 2 provides 15000 per KWH battery and maximum of 40% of cost of vehicle.

Walkaround video below. Media will be able to drive the scooters in the next 1-2 days and reviews will be up in a week:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6IbUh_B64s

The removable battery gives a range of 60 km. If it's the real-world range, then the capacity of it will be ~1.5 kWh and the fixed battery will be 3.2 kWh.

Just finished booking it in Namma Red. Now need to get my money back from Ola.
