Vivek, any details of this model ? I dont remember Boxer being in the 150cc range.

Or is it that this bike in that market was called a Boxer, and the Indian version being the puny 100cc one ?

It was launched in 2011-12 and discontinued a few years later. It was one of the most VFM bikes of that time, but didn't sell as much as Bajaj anticipated.

This model in the African continent has 150cc engine, whereas we had 100cc and now BOXER is relaunched under CT lineup with 110CC.

It was about ten years ago and it was on sale for a very short period in India. This is the pic I found online. Same engine and 4 speed tran as on the Discover 150, also short lived.

Why the saree step is installed on the right hand side of the bike ? Is there any change in rule regarding this ? All the bikes have it on the left side. Or am I missing something here

I think that's the luggage carrier, and it's on both sides. .

Bajaj and it's confused range of offerings. Maruti looks like a saint ! But it is possible that Bajaj was trying to cash in on the Boxer name in rural areas with a more powerful engine. But seem to have missed that the consumer of low end motorbikes definitely look more at FE than rated payload.

Re: Bajaj CT110X launched at Rs. 55,494

The Bajaj M80 which is still in use (in terrible conditions) to haul produce, milk cans and everything else imaginable was a true work horse for the rural and even urban markets with the closest competition being the TVS XL. The way these vehicles were / are being used is crazy.

This bike looks to be the more hip cousin in looks but promising the same key attributes of a tough, go anywhere, carry anything bike that is also easy on the pocket.

Good luck to Bajaj for making something that is decent looking and utilitarian.

On a completely unrelated note where these vehicles are hauling luggage, with or without the delivery boxes, is it not high time they be treated as a commercial vehicle and charged / taxed appropriately?

This seems to be poor mans RE Himalayan.
Light weight, Good Mileage, Single channel ABS, Comfort lengthy seats. Though 4 speed gearbox would be annoying sometimes. IMO, Bajaj could have launched this with 5 speed gearbox which is already tried/tested.

Re-imagined CT400X
