Would second this above, I don't quite understand all the hate and merciless rejections of the design earlier in the thread... I thought the Vikrant was a brilliantly fresh and creative while utterly practical design, and moreover someone here who had one said it pulled great in these hills even with pillion, despite the tame figures.

The bike hasn't died. I'm seeing many FZx in my town. I went to Yamaha showroom and sat in this bike and felt it very comfortable to sit, ride and manoeuvre through traffic as it is light in weight. I currently own a TB500 which is a comfortable couch and FZx is also good. As you had already mentioned in your post, the engine is one part that I can't accept. There is sluggishness after 60 kmph with BS6 tuning. OTOH my TB500 can comfortably cruise at 80 KMPH with acceptable vibrations. For a normal mileage oriented user this bike is an excellent package over now boring Unicorn design. There are buyers for FZx and in fact there is a waiting period for this bike as said by showroom guy. Now I'm more inclined to check Bajaj CT110x if it can give company to my TB500 .

Reviving an old thread

I got a chance to ride FZ X for a small 3-4Km stretch and was not able to push it beyond 50KMPH as I was in a residential area and there is no point in risking it there. But the bike is comfortable to sit, posture is good for commute and has the typical 'Yamaha pickup'. I saw the sales numbers for June 2022 for bikes and can't figure out FZ X numbers separately but for sure this bike is giving Yamaha some incremental sales and is not a bad buy in the budget segment.

What we need to understand is that even though FZ25 is only INR 30-40K more, that is a considerable number for a budget buyer (almost 20-30%) and the bike looks different (including the colors)| than the crowd.

Hope to see more variety of bikes across segments and manufacturers
