According to a media report, the updated Royal Enfield Himalayan could be launched by the end of January 2021.



The revised Himalayan is expected to get a tweaked frame and will come equipped with Tripper Navigation. The bike is also likely to get new colours including silver and pine green.

Tipper Navigation is essentially a turn-by-turn navigation system. It is likely to be housed within a separate pod on the semi-digital instrument cluster similar to the Meteor 350. It will have Bluetooth which can be used to pair a smartphone via the Royal Enfield app.

The updated Himalayan is expected to retain the same BS6 compliant 411cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine as the current model. This unit produces 24.3 BHP and 32 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Tripper navigation is a welcome addition, but they should also increase the height of the visor by 3 inches to reduce the wind buffeting. I have observed many Himalayan owners using a visor extender which not only spoils the look from the front end but also reduces the visibility due to the holding clips.

one of the RE store guys told me about these same features in 2021 Himalayan, seems launching by end-Jan-21.

I see quite a few cosmetic changes already.

• The wind visor seem to be tinted now but doesn't appear to be longer from this angle.
• The headlights have black outer lid.
• Clear indicator lens.
• Black finishing on the exhaust.
• The rear luggage carrier looks slightly different as well.

At the Himalayan's launch, I really hope they launch the much needed tripper-nav and alloy wheels for the Twins as well.

Though it will be a welcome addition, adding the Tripper Navigation to the existing set up might require some expensive modifications, pretty sure the meter mounting base plate is different.

In terms of overall design, the bike remains largely the same as before. The most significant differentiation factor is the new colour schemes that the bike will be available in. These include the Granite Black and Pine Green colour schemes.
