Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

Good morning friends!

Has anyone seen these touring windshields custom made for CB 350? The photos look good and I'm drawn to the smoked one for my anniversary edition matt Green 'Bug'

https://carbonracing.in/products/tou...r-honda-cb-351

Any advice before plunging in to the pre order queue will be highly appreciated.

Regards
Ram

Well the product will be available only post 9th April. Can comment only once I see it. Liking the naked look up front, right now but this is compelling indeed

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

The much awaited windscreen made its debut, and luckily I was at the service station for engine oil change. Looks diminutive and purposeless but it's actually preventing wind blast on my face. Must say I'm mightily impressed with this 'Lil one'. Coming to the fittings, they're are just solid, and will last. The screen has the right amount of visibility/tint. Costs Rs 2K

Suggest good place to buy accessories for Honda H'ness CB350 in Chennai

Hey guys I've already booked the Honda H'ness CB350 anniversary edition.
The dealer has quoted a waiting period of 30 days.
I'm looking for accessories that would be good to have for city riding (I won't be needing any touring related gear or accessories at the least not right away).
Honda offers few official accessories, I've attached the list, but I'm not sure if they are worth the price.
If anyone knows any good store in Chennai for the accessories or suggest good official accessories, please do let me know.

Hope someone responds from Chennai. Meanwhile, a back order with CarbonRacing for windscreen was suddenly delivered today. I'd already installed the Honda Original Accessory but this quality is really 'UP THERE'. The screen looks solid with strong mounting points. The size is just right. Bonus points for the packing! Now, I'm tempted to install this one

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

So I was at Honda BigWing to install the skid plate from the CB 350 RS (the scrambler edition) on my SMURFY. I was always told this was not possible, but then it was a challenge. And while there I spotted the Carbon Racing WindScreen being installed (CR sold over 7000 units of these, and most of them received it today). The skid plate was a big job since the side bolts need to be welded in place, but a competent job nonetheless. Have a look

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

Waiting for your feedback/comparo on both windshields. Honestly I am finding the wind blast under control for my riding speeds of 80-90kmph.

However if the honda official accessory really makes difference, I would like to give it a shot. Carbon racing seems too bulky for city usage

You're right there. Go for the Honda accessory. I rode in one area with wind blast (RajaRajeshwari Nagar), and it performed well. Accurate enough to save the face. I used to think its just ornamental but Honda must have tested this in the wind tunnel. Hyperrider, Blor has a largish one which my friend is installing today(Similar to the Meteor)

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

The clouds opened up and the last three days were wet. My bike was throwing up muck all over. Adjusted the Highness original accessory 'front rubber mudflap' to work at the 'rear'. This was done at BigWing. Fitted Carbon Racing 'front fender extender' with bolts this time, and the bike is set for days to come. The 'water proof' top box from Hepco & Becker and 'water-resistant' luggage from Kriega, is holding out the rains brilliantly!

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

I took a long time but I have understood my bike's capabilities. The seat has kept my tail bone happy, and long rides are comfortable. My friend has suggested Kerala, Andhra, Mangalore trips before the monsoon hits and I upgraded my bike to cruiser standard. Highway footrests, Sliders, Shad full luggage setup - at the back, Hyperrider Crashguard (by far the best for CB350) are the additions. Now my bike is set for an exciting ride!

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

The artisan admiring his work after adding the taller cruiser shield! Hyperrider team has been very helpful and I thank them for the support. Regarding the windscreen, I had the very capable Honda plate there, and the boys just changed the polycarbonate transparent sheet. I prefer transparent to the 'smoked' look, as the road is clearly visible

I have also booked a Highness Black DLX at JSP Honda with a month of waiting time. The sales executive suggested to go for the following
Upper guard
Lower gaurd
Fork boot
Splash gaurd 2
Number plate frame
Support pipe

I would add the tank pad to the list but wondering about buying the crash gaurd from Zana which comes with sliders instead of the upper and lower gaurd

Gosh Sebring, that’s going to be one really heavy CB350 with the luggage loaded. The way the bike pulls and speed will definitely be affected since it’s a small capacity engine. But majorly, handling, flick-ability and braking may go for a complete toss. You will need to really balance/distribute the load properly, especially in your side panniers.

Just a suggestion, be extremely careful till you figure out how she behaves on the highway with all this extra load to avoid any nasty surprises.

Do share your experience after completing your trip. Have an enjoyable and safe journey.

Cheers

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

Not a problem Cyborg. I have covered Mysuru and Coorg already, and am on the road. Bike handles well as I dont do over 80KMPH, anyways. Use the top box for the bike cover and my helmet (At small eateries/night halts). Side panniers have a tool box/punture kit/change of clothes/gloves etc. Nothing heavy. Yes, I need to be careful so as not to try and fit into gaps in traffic. That takes some learning Thanks for your wishes. I feel I'm living the best phase of my life

Considering the anniversary edition already comes with chrome side stand and split brown seats, that's almost everything else the sales guy suggests. BTW how long is the waiting period for you, he quoted me 30 days, I booked it on April 14th.
