Looks like a huge step back in terms of design to me than the previous gen RC. What are these guys aiming at?

Now this may trigger a lot of people here, but I sincerely feel that somehow Bajaj is behind this "common parts bin" situation which has directly led to this design for the RC. Looking at these pictures is literally my worst nightmare as I was hoping the camo was misleading and the actual design was sharper.

This makes the RR310 look better by default and the old RC now looks Cyberpunk-ish and consequently, better than whatever this is ��

The worst part is the fact that the RC is now not even fully faired anymore. It quite literally looks like a modified Gixxer 155SF from 2018. Fairing slapped on a naked bike, that too haphazardly. Absolutely disgraceful

While part sharing is something that I appreciate considering the costs, it should not be taken to this extreme.
They could've gotten the projector headlamps shared by both the bikes, but making the front same, isn't quite worth it in terms of looks.

Considering also that this bike is a BS6 model which is essentially a downgrade in every term except pollution norms and sound/noise levels, this move will only ensure a better market for second hand KTM's.
Under belly exhaust is a good move though, it stands out. Ask me, I own a 2013 Duke 390.

Visited a near by KTM showroom to checkout the new RC 200.

Here are my initial observations:
1. The new design looks much better in flesh than in pictures
2. Frontend looks much bigger than the old model. Doesn't look out of proportion.
3. Fit and finish is top notch. Full marks to Bajaj
4. The cockpit view gives you a feel of bigger/expensive bikes. Good job KTM
5. Seat is the biggest improvement and is much more comfortable. The new textures, padding is premium.
6With raised clip-ons handle bar the driving position is good. Doesn't put pressure on wrist and not too much aggressive.
7. LCD display looks nice and shows lot of information

Price breakup mentioned in the end. The Orange and Silver color bike was not available.

Could not get a test ride so plan to visit again or will visit Sai Service Wakdewadi.









Next to current RC 390. The new bike is bigger.

Visited showroom for a TD over the weekend.

Below are my initial impressions.
Likes
1. Refined engine. Good power delivery
2. Good pick up and in no time I was cruising at 6th gear @100 kmph
3. Gear shifting was smooth
4. Handle bar position is better than earlier RC. Less pressure on wrists
5. Excellent seats - very spacious and comfortable. This must be the biggest change. It has enough room to move around. The seat material feels premium
6. Foot pegs position is not very aggressive and can use this bike for city commute as well

Can be better
1. Useless mirrors. They are positioned very wide but the angle and size is awkward
2. Pillion seat height - not practical though better than old model
3. Exhaust note - nowhere close to earlier RC/Dukes

The TD bike was a Orange/Silver. Personally I liked this color as it looked premium and it still shouts KTM's orange.







RC 125 - Black/Orange looks much better than RC 200 - Black/Orange
