Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh (page 6)

It seems Honda has done its homework well.
Spoke to someone I know in Gurgaon who has ridden the CB-350 (and he is multiple bike owner and a serious enthusiast), and he says that the CB-350 is very refined and tractable.
As per him, it's not a fireball in terms of outright acceleration but rides nice and easy on the torque developed low down in the power band.
He was also appreciative of the slick shifting slipper clutch assisted gearbox. Apparently the motorcycle is also pleasantly vibration free.
After all these years of monopoly, Royal Enfield seems to have got an able competitor.
If Honda releases this bike through its "bread and butter" normal sales channels, over and above the Big Wing outlets, it has the potential to clock up some good sales numbers.

This bike looks good. Wonder if some of the bits are direct fit on RE Twins, like the headlamp and turn signals and mayyyyy be the alloy wheels. That seat also looks quite comfy over the RE's.

Heads up!

Looks like rapid rollout of the Honda 350 has stirred RE to speed things up.

Royal Enfield is going to launch/reveal the Meteor 350 on November 6th! (According to CNBC)

Yes, that. Sorry I wasn’t aware of the term.

I will get the pictures when the TD bike arrives at the showroom fitted with accessories. I’ll share as soon as I get it from SA.

Honda is offering the user manual in a box few goodies. Few touches like this are surely welcome. Neat

Happened to see it in a youtube bike delivery video.

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh (page 6)

Here is another mud video, a mud trail riding one from Abhinav Bhatt. This guy rides a Tiger 1200, modified Interceptor 650 and KTM 390.
Some points to note from his videos about CB350:

1. The gearshift is butter smooth, aided by a heal and toe shifter.
2. The bike took in 17 liters of fuel on a full tank.
3. The bike shows him a range of 550+kms and an average mileage of 37 kmpl for city and second, third gear riding.
4. Suspension is slightly stiff.
5. Fifth gear should be engaged at 60kmph. Below that bikes response in fifth gear is not great.
6. The digital readout though small is legible.
7. The tank is perfectly wide and has rightly sized recesses for gripping through legs.
8. Bike handles well.

According to him this is a great, premium feeling city commuter which can do highway runs as well.
Once Honda opens more showrooms this bike would be a great buy and alternative to RE 350.

Still you can't beat us Bangaloreans,

It's 2,35,000 and 2,40,000 respectively for us. That is almost 25 k (or approximately 12%) more compared to the Gurugram price :(

Thanks PraNeel for the summarisation. Saw his earlier delivery video from Gurgaon Big Wing posted by one of our people a page earlier too.

A few thoughts from my side:
Regarding the suspension which he says is slightly stiff, I would not believe that blindly because he has not said whether he has checked the tyre pressure as per Honda’s recommendation. We all know in brand new bikes or cars how they over-inflate the tyres from the factory. This needs to be verified by other people.

During the earlier delivery video presumably from his helmet cam, check out the mirrors throughout the ride, the view is super steady/clear, seems to be completely vibration free

This reviewer Abhinav has supposedly taken the CB delivery on behalf of his Uncle (his statement). I am amazed and dismayed that he is subjecting/abusing somebody else’s brand new (run only 70-80 kms) bike to a trail ride to amuse/increase his viewership in order to answer a question by his viewers whether this bike would go to Spiti/Ladakh. Irresponsible behaviour.

Cheers

He is an avid motorcycle guy and to keep his viewers engrossed and rake up subscriber count he needs to keep showing varied content and more so when CB350 has generated so much interest.
Yes, he is driving his uncle's bike, but I doubt he would be doing so without permission. And who knows uncle might be happy that his bike is used in a popular YouTube video
Your point is valid though.

Now, I am in search of such an uncle who:

1. lets his brand new bike to touch triple digit speeds

2. lets it be abused/tested on trails and

3. allows me to keep the bike for a week or so.

Wow, I am a Banglorean and feel my pocket is better off due to Covid (as I got held up in Kerala since April 2020 and couldn't resist booking it after waiting for Interceptor and Meteor in Kerala & Karnataka) which means my purse will still have enough to look for more accessories.
