Husqvarna E-01 e-scooter & E-Pilen e-bike details out

The half-year report released by Pierer Mobility sheds some light on the details of the upcoming Husqvarna E-01 electric scooter and E-Pilen electric bike.

Both products will be based on a common EV platform and will be manufactured at Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant near Pune.

Husqvarna E-01

The design concept revealed by the company suggests that the E-01 is likely to feature futuristic styling. It is finished in a dual-tone colour scheme of black and silver with fluorescent highlights. It will be powered by a 5.4 BHP electric motor.

The E-01 e-scooter will go on sale in 2021.

Husqvarna E-Pilen

The E-Pilen looks unmistakably a Husqvarna. It features a similar colour scheme as the E-01 e-scooter. It will be offered with two electric motor options. The entry-level version will get a 5.4 BHP motor, while the other will have an output of 13.4 BHP.

The bike has upside down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It has disc brakes at both ends and rides on 4-spoke alloy wheels.

The E-Pilen electric bike could be launched in 2022.

The E 01 is SO MUCH better looking than the Ather in my opinion. If futuristic is the look you’re seeking, this one pulls it off a lot better than the Ather. And then you have the Chetak that goes after the Retro look. The folks at Chakan seem to have both ends of the stick covered. Now if only they could get prices of these modest performers to get a lot more realistic it would be nice to see deeper adoption of EV scooters in our country, specially in so many of our B cities as well as urban cities where scooters are gaining popularity as a supplement to even a car.
