Vespa 'Racing Sixties' edition to launch on September 1

Piaggio has announced that the Racing Sixties edition based on the Vespa SXL 150 will launch on September 1.

This limited edition model is based on the SXL 150 and gets 1960s themed graphic colors with components like the headlight surround, mirrors and exhaust shield finished in matte black.

There is also a smoked windscreen above the new LED headlight.

Mechanically powering this scooter is a 150cc BS-6 compliant engine that makes 10.4hp at 7,600rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.

There is a 200mm disc up front and a 140mm drum at the rear for brakes along with ABS.

Additional features include an under-seat light and a USB charger.

Expect this special edition to be priced around the Rs 1.3 lakh mark.

Vespa Racing Sixties launched, priced from Rs. 1.20 Lakhs. The special edition variant is based on the SXL 125 and SXL 150 models.

This new Vespa looks good, especially in that color combinations. But I have this panic braking problem in my Vespa VXL 150, always slips when applied brakes suddenly which is not at all confidence inspiring. Any Vespa users who don't face this problem? If so, what is the speed that one can maintain ?
