Re: Hero Electric announces 3-day return offer on its e-scooters

It's a good policy, among the first ever. But what will be the fate of such three day used and returned 'back to the stable' e-scooters ?

- Will these be resold as new to gullible customers again ?

- Or will these be sold at a discount once returned, much in keeping with the practice of selling "Test Drive Cars" ?

Re: Hero Electric announces 3-day return offer on its e-scooters

Interesting. I am just thinking what could be the strategy behind this offer?

Is it only to prove to customers that HERO Is confident that customer likes it, and hence they expect more sales?

Or

Is it that dealers don't want to invest on display and test drive scooters and hence
Use these returned scooters in dealer as display or test drive scooters at lower price

Or

Just to attract customers to showroom or portal during lockdown, with lots of hidden T&C that makes it impossible to return after 3 days?

Anything else? Just curious

And Hero expects customers to realize their mistake within three days?

This works in the fashion industry with portals like Myntra because there are genuine reasons like a wrong fit for the product ordered. I'm not understanding how the same will be applicable to motorcycles - should have provided long test rides instead!

And those returned motorcycles may be passed on to new customers because registration is not needed for their low-speed vehicle range.

Happy to see some innovation in the sales & marketing of our industry. Otherwise, it's just one boring discount scheme after another. These are all proven strategies picked up from larger markets and they do work, not just in creating a buzz, but also bringing some customers over (who were sitting on the fence).

I only hope that it's not like the terms & conditions are so rigid that one cannot actually return the product back.

Think of it as a 3-day test-ride which is quite fair. The whole family can try it out, you can get to know what its real-world range is like and all the pros & cons can become visible in this period. Other than shooting the pictures, we can complete our full Official Review checklist (i.e. observations) in 3 days .

Whats is this Earth 2.0?. Did we just emerge from an apocalypse?. I still feel the same about Hero Electric (and more so now) that selling Chinese clones is not going to take you anywhere even with all these schemes. When a start up indian company like Ather could do a bike from scratch.

They should get rid of the hub wheel design.
