The bike is simply brilliant man. Loved it!

The riding position is pure love. Brilliant pickup and brakes and balance.

And smashing over Camp's humungous humps flat out standing up was a revelation. Lol

You should consider yourself fortunate to have had a visit from that misanthrope to beat all misanthropes, and even more blessed that he offered a ride on the bike. If I were you, I'd buy a lottery ticket pronto before this lucky streak ends. I live hardly a km away and I haven't even seen his latest acquisition yet.

Lol!

For some reason he has been super kind enough to bring all his new bikes to me to ride first. I must admit I was floored by this one. I liked his ER6N a lot as well. The ones in the middle not as much.

Cheers, Doc

I don't ride at all now. I'm a full time cyclist. I think Sikkim in 2016 was my last proper ride.

Even if I did, close to 4 lacs is a lot more than I'd be willing to pay regardless of how good it is, if I did not already own the 390 ...

I was just glad that muscle memory kicked in and I didn't fall over on the first corner out of my gate 🤣

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

Went on a long ride (~350 KMs) exactly 6 months after the last one.
The NVH levels have really gone down as she continues to pile up miles. I don't know if it's for real or it's the gap of 6 months that has reset my understanding of the same
Discovered the sweet spot for cruising between 100-110 kmph at which I felt little or no vibrations. Yet to calculate the FE for this ride though.

Here are few snaps:

The ODO now stands at 3,500 KMs

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

hi All,

Is there a urgent recall going on for the Adventure 390? Getting urgent calls for service - even offered to pick up the bike for servicing.

Cheers.

Fuel pipe, front brake caliper bolts, double-sided sticker for the windshield, and bolt for plastic in front of the fuel tank are the recall parts as per info I got from owners.

Nice!

Forgot to tell you, the other day as you were riding away, I noticed that the rear tyre looks decidedly skinny compared to the Duke.

As a Metzeler it would be close to 10K or plus. The search for a good tough and cheap all-road rear tyre for the Duke continues.

For the front the Sirac is simply brilliant.

Cheers, Doc

There is a reason for that. Thinner tyres work better offroad. Converse, relatively, on road. These metzelers are hardly off-road. They are a good no road or bad road proposition however.

Good luck with your search, however I would look into the Timsun catalogue.

That's why I said "all road" and not off road.

The Ralco is pretty similar tread. That will probably be tried next.

In retrospect I was unfair to the Ceat Vertigo Sport (though it gave me similar sideways skittles on my 500 as well) for disappearing inside 7000 kms when I realized that all of those 7000 were done on a couple of slow leaks on a brand new tyre that dropped the pressure to under 20 by mid-day every day, day after day.

But those are not made anymore anyways.

I think I did look at other SE Asian alternatives along with @urban nomad (Vee Rubber) ... but 3-3.5 K is my upper limit for a one-tour use and throw tyre.

Cheers, Doc

For my bike back from 1st service. Zero hazzle. They arranged for pickup and drop as well!
It cost me @1800.

Fuel pipe - not replaced since its already the rigid one
Front brake calipers - not replacement due to unavailability

Bike has become extra smooth and delightful. Quick shifter works as a charm and I may get addicted to the ease of up shifts and downshifts

Happy!

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

My first over 500 km ride in a day on this bike. About 250 kms were terrible roads with other bikes, gravel, construction equipment, and trucks all jostling for 2 feet of ground, and the rest express ways with dogs, birds and people going across and back hoping YOU keep a watch at 100 kmph.

Which was my sweet spot.

Blr-pune highway.
