Re: Review: My Hero Xpulse 200 (aka "Nu Bike") Since the last update Nu Bike has seen a lot of miles on road & off road. Mostly weekend rides and a few commutes. The odometer stands at 6258 kms as of today.
I fitted handguards in red colour last year and the colour has slightly faded on them and they need a respray.
The tappet noise was quite evident and irritating and I got it checked and adjusted a month ago. Nubike has been performing well since then albeit with some sound from the timing chain/tensioner which my mechanic said is ok.
I switched to Gulf powertrac 4t 10w30 semi synth (bottle print reads Synthetic) for my latest oil change and there is a huge difference compared to Shell 10w40. Gearshifts are much smoother when compared to Hero oil or Shell. I will try to stick the the company recommended grade of 10w30 for the next change.
The Xpulse was to be used for commutes in the city but here it is doing weekend rides & trail rides. Never thought I'd be doing leisure rides .
Broken roads/no roads are the top favorite for the X. I'd be breezing past traffic on under construction roads. Winding roads are next in the list. It's a corner happy machine and grips well around the bends. Open highways are the least favorite and it tops out at 105-110 kmph but rides best at 85-90 kmph. Riding on highways can get dreary.
Sharing some pics from some rides I have done.
I got a full face helmet for junior. Vega buds in the smallest size. Fits him well, not too snug though. Now I can take him on longer rides than before he's happy to join. He now refers to the bike as "Hero Xpulse" "My dirt bike" not "Nubike" anymore. Dirt bikes & SUVs his favorite now
