Rumour: Royal Enfield Hunter 350 to be launched in August

Royal Enfield has a neo-retro roadster model in the pipeline. Rumoured to be called the Hunter 350, the new bike could be launched in August, this year.

The Hunter 350 is said to be based on Royal Enfield’s J-platform. It will be powered by the same 349cc, single-cylinder engine that is offered on the Meteor and Classic. This motor puts out 20 BHP and 27 Nm.

As per leaked images, the Hunter 350 will get a circular headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a short tail section with a single-piece seat.

The Hunter 350 is likely to get Y-spoke alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends. The suspension looks pretty conventional too with telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

While Honda has not been able to get essential accessories to the market for H'ness launched way back in October 2020, RE, on the hand, has launched Classic Reborn, Scram 411, and now Hunter 350. The new RE looks good, and if priced right as rumor is, it will be, H'ness will feel the heat.

Hunter 350 specs confirmed, no mechanical changes, powered by the same 349cc engine from the Meteor and Classic.

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

As the launch is nearing I wonder, is the Hunter 350 gonna be a Retro styled Scrambler to take the fight to the CB 350 RS or is it going to be a modern alternative to the Classic 350?

Its highly unlikely that the Hunter is going to be a retro scrambler. None of the spy shots suggested that the Hunter was running off road tires. The Honda CB350 RS is a scrambler styled bike that barely does any volumes when compared to the different 350 cc offerings from Royal Enfield.

Hunter will hunt down Ronin if introduced at similar prices. Looks very nice. I didn't expect Himalayn kind of tank treatment. Great looking with J series smooth engine. RE is at their peak form in life.

I think I will like its sitting position more than meteor's. It will be very tempting if has similar low seating of 765 mm.

Looks like a premium motorcycle if not for the parts sharing done amongst MOST of their bikes so far. I’d swap out that ugly tail lamp + indicators combination for something much sleeker. And maybe get rid of that rear fender in favour of something nicer looking.

Can Hunter's alloy wheels fit in Interceptor?

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

RE's 350cc lineup is really shaping up nicely. The evergreen Classic has the old school market cornered, the Meteor is a great alternative for someone who may want a more modern take on the entry- level cruiser, and now the Hunter will give everything from the Ronin to the CB350RS a run for their money. Beautifully proportioned, thoughtfully finished and styled, and elegant almost to the point of being timeless.

Now to apply these same feel-good elements to the 650 range. That will bring in a whole new segment of buyers into the fold. Make it lighter, more ergonomically sorted, convenience-oriented features like better seats, tubeless tyres etc are must-haves. If RE can pull all of these off at a price point that's about half of the 650s, why not share those benefits with the bigger bikes?

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 to be launched on August 7

Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch the Hunter 350 in the Indian market on August 7, 2022.

New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!-re-hunter.jpg

The Hunter 350 is based on the brand’s J platform and is rumoured to be its most affordable model in the 350cc range. The bike measures 2,055 mm in length, 800 mm in width, 1,055 mm in height and its wheelbase is 1,370 mm. The gross vehicle weight is 360 kg.

The Hunter 350 features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a round instrument console. The bike has a single-piece seat and a short tail section. It comes with a compact, upswept exhaust and is likely to be offered with either wire-spoke or alloy wheels.

The Hunter 350 is expected to be powered by the company's familiar 349.34cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 20 BHP and 27 Nm. This is the same engine that powers the Meteor and Classic models.

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

I think they should bring out the 650 twin version with a higher state of tune, probably with more power but with same torque as it could be a potentially cheaper alternative to the Triumph Speed Twin 900 in the overseas market, akin to a lot of customers cross shopping the Interceptor 650 as a bike that gives 70% of the Bonnie twin's experience at way lesser cost. RE has to focus on improving the perceived quality of components as well if they have to make it big internationally as opposed to it being a niche in most countries at the moment.

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

Kindly correct if I am wrong but 360kg is too much for a bike. 160kg should be sufficient.

Also j series is serious improvement over old chasis.

If it has 70% of classics characters, it will rock the 2 wheelers market

The RE Shotgun 650 seems to be close to production ready. There’s loads of spy shots and videos floating around on the internet & Instagram, with the latest ones available on PowerDrift’s Instagram page.
While RE definitely needs to improve the quality to match the levels of the japs/Europeans, they have definitely made it big with the 650 twins as well as the Himalayan being well received in most international markets. The Interceptor 650 got motorcycle of the year awards by MCN in the UK two years in a row!
Hoping to see RE more dominant both on the World stage, as well as domestically, especially in the higher capacity markets.
