Rumour: Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 caught testing

Apparently Ninja 300 BS6 has been caught testing, quashing the belief that Kawaski will end the Bread and Butter bike in the portfolio. Interesting if they are doing this just for indian market, as majority of the markets it is replaced by Ninja 400 already.

I am personally disappointed that they did not end the 300 and reduced the pricing of 400, when they generally have well priced bikes in india. Not sure why they are adamant to not admit that they made a mistake with 400 pricing. The 400 priced sensibly can really bring in good numbers for kawasaki.

Wow I had thought the bike would never see the light of day and kawasaki had given up on India for selling in any substantial numbers. Even though the bike is practically the same as 2 years ago it's still a fantastic bike. Though i wish kawasaki would address the old flaws of the bike like poor ground clearance and halogen lighting.

From the article:
Quote:
For 2021, we are given to understand that the company is now working on even more localisation, this time mainly involving components within the engine.
Which means its going to be cheaper than what it was last.
Also, IKM will manufacture the stuff in house so MAYBE quality won't go down.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the CKD Ninja was to get rid of engines left over from the rest of the world - it got discontinued everywhere else except us.

But if they're starting local manufacture of this then perhaps they have longer term plans to 'make in India'

....price and that it could be priced below Rs 2.5 lakh.
If this is indeed true, the Ninja will be a no-brainer choice when compared to the RC 390, even if KTM adds the LCD display and bluetooth to the 2021 avatar.

Not a no brainer as the rc 390 is a faster bike and a lot more sportier to ride. The Ninja is basically a sports tourer like the rr 310 but it will have a lot less gadgets. However it's still a solid reliable smooth bike

It's a personal thing of course, but the Ninja is infinitely sexier than the RC (as well as the Duke).

The 250 I think topped out at 160+. The Duke first gen at 170+.

But if I had gotten as clean a Ninja as the Duke I got, even with more mileage on the clock, I was willing to pay a premium of 20k over what I paid for my Duke.

The Ninja was just so intuitive to ride. I loved it from the moment I sat astride it and gave it some gas.

Cheers, Doc

What the KTMs offer that even TVS doesn't with the RR310 is the solid dealer network and reasonably priced spares. Big bike manufacturers have still not convinced many about their post-sales support and quality. Also, it should be noted that the Indian customer, in a way, is not mature yet. BHP figures are still the most important aspect of a spec sheet even for an enthusiast and not the way the bike feels, rides, as well as the emotion of the bike to the rider.
