Peugeot Pulsion scooter spotted in India

It remains to be seen if the Pulsion maxi-scooter will be launched in India. If it does make its way here, expect it to sport a premium price tag, considering the performance and features on offer.

Quote:
Peugeot’s Pulsion maxi-scooter has been spied in India for the first time. While there is no badging revealing the displacement, it’s likely this is the 125cc iteration that was launched internationally earlier this year. This year also saw Mahindra Two Wheelers Europe – a subsidiary of India's Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) – acquire Peugeot Motocycles. It’s possible that the manufacturer is evaluating doing what it did with the E-Ludix, where the scooter is being manufactured at Mahindra’s Pithampur plant and exported to Peugeot Moto. The following is what we know of the Pulsion 125.

At present, the Peugeot Pulsion is manufactured at the company’s Mandeure plant in France, and is available in three variants – Allure, Active and RS. Powering the maxi-scooter is a 125cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected unit that produces 14.6hp and 11.9Nm of torque. The manufacturer says the two-wheeler has been designed to “belong to the Peugeot family” and so details like the analogue speedometer and reverse rev-counter resemble those on the Peugeot 308 car. Other standout features include the LED projector headlights and design elements like the large Peugeot logo at the front and the claw mark-like tail-lights.

The scooter in the images is seen sporting Michelin tyres that have a different tread pattern compared to the ones on the international scooter. However, we cannot tell from these images if there are any localised components on the model.

The Pulsion also comes with the manufacturer’s connected vehicle system, called i-Connect, which includes a TFT colour display and app-based connectivity. The application uses GPS data and allows for planning trips, while taking traffic into account. It also displays calls, messages and other social media notifications on the TFT screen. Additionally, the Pulsion’s warning lights can be triggered via the key fob to help spot it easily in a crowd.

In foreign markets, the Pulsion features a 12-litre fuel tank, which is a fair bit more than what most scooters in India offer at the moment. The pictures also reveal what appears to be the fuel cap located on the footboard. Peugeot claims that the scooter offers enough underseat storage to fit a full-face helmet.

Re: Peugeot Pulsion scooter spotted in India

It looks like a monster tourer, but, it just potters around.

Somehow, I am not connected to those maxi-scooters with very little power.
