An attachment for differently able people has been launched at Rs. 11237/- XL100

TVS Motor Company has announced a retrofitment kit for its top-selling utilitarian, XL 100 for differently-abled persons. The homegrown manufacturer is offering the kit with special government benefits/discounts as well. The kit has been approved by ARAI as it underwent testing and it costs Rs. 11,237.

The Hosur-based company has designed and developed the retrofitment kit in-house and it provides an additional two wheels to make it convenient for the differently-abled persons and senior citizens of the country according to TVS.

Very useful fitment indeed , they don't have to go for sub-standard aftermarket fitments anymore. Hope other manufacturers also follow the suit.

Kick-start becomes useless.

Though the intended users never use it, if ever the self-start refuses to work it is good to have a kick-start so that someone else can start the moped, now it's not possible.

After XL100, now Scooty Pep+ gets a retro-fitment for the disabled, priced at Rs. 11,699.

The fitment procedure is pretty straightforward and requires a couple of bolts to latch onto the scooter. As easy as its sounds, we'd leave the job to professionals. A set of extra wheels suspended off a rigid structure and an armstrong suspension ensure better stability. The unit features pillion footrests and provisions for holding crutches too. The fender covers for the wheels are manufactured from 16-inch gauge sheet metal. That said, the overall structure though is rather light, according to the company and doesn’t hamper performance by much.

Now, you’re probably wondering why the kit’s only available on two scooters. It’s not. In fact, you could also opt for the very same retro-fitment kit on the TVS Wego and Jupiter for Rs 11,999. The slight price hike could be attributed to the alterations made for the slightly different mounting points.
