KTM 250 Adventure spied testing

While we wait with bated breath for the 390 Adventure, KTM have apparently sprung a surprise with the 250 Adventure, which has now been spotted undergoing testing!

The tell-tale sign that the bike caught testing is the KTM 250 Adventure is the halogen headlight seen on the front of the test mule. Also, unlike the 390 Adventure, the bike in question sports a non-adjustable USD fork. The prototype pictured here features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel, a luggage rack at the rear and a more upright riding position than the 250 Duke. It also sports a reworked exhaust system which will most likely make the engine Euro5/BS6 compliant.

What's interesting is the presence of a TFT display on this test mule, a feature that is absent on the 250 Duke. Hence, it also seems likely that the production bike will get Bluetooth connectivity, at least via an accessory module if not as a factory-fitted feature.

Other sites, mainly Powerdrift, had this reported as 390 adventure with halogen headlamps. Powerdrift & ZigWheels have same parent company, wonder why their opinions differ.

How is it possible to figure out this detail from a spy shot? Just curious what they would have looked for!

I also believe it might be a 250 Adventure though. Just restricting themselves to the 390 might not be enough for volumes.

I am sure the media houses would have received some handy off the record information, which they can then combine with these spy shots to pull the whole story together.

The Adventure 250 makes a lot of sense, I wouldnt put it past KTM to give us an Adventure 200 as well.

How do you guys figured out it is KTM? The taillights seems like RTR200 or Yamaha FZ25.

All the more reason to be confident that it's the 250. Looks like it should also be ready for launch along with the 390.

The panels that look like cardboard sheets.

No other company dares to make them that ugly (in the eyes of the beholder, I know) to save on weight. Except maybe for Dakar.

Re: KTM 250 Adventure spied testing

Could it be possible this is a cheaper variant of the 390 Adventure - to keep the prices low (without the TFT screen and the LED headlights)

No, the 250 adventure is for real, and this is probably it.

Re: KTM 250 Adventure spied testing

The 250 seems a prudent decision for a small Adv bike and they can hopefully price it better as well. Although KTM puts spoke wheels on most of their off-road and Adv bikes, the alloys are welcome on this bike, at the cost of limiting some of its off-road capabilities, but definitely more useful to fix punctures on a long ride on the highway.

Although the headlight and front panels have some remote resemblance with the TVS, the Red board regn MH-14 (Pune) and the RVMs point it to KTM. TVS test bikes normally have TN-70 regn
