Though the price was very good, the range is pretty low. But it's a welcome move since a mass market two wheeler manufacturer like Hero now shifting their interest towards electric. Hope they will increase the range in future.

this is quite strange! Hero moto corp is a large investor (~30 million USD) in Ather energy which makes the Arther 450 and 340. Kind of conflict of interest to launch a alternate offering.

This Hero electric has nothing to do with the Hero motors (munjal/splendor) which made the investment in Ather. They are two different companies with different owners.

Hero Motor Corp cannot use the Hero name in the electric world. That is their agreement.

Really hope Hero electric invests and develops proper electric scooters instead of these disappointing models. This has top speed of 25 kmph which is pathetic. They should at least start working on 1-2 models that can compete with Ather 450 on range and performance instead of releasing model after model which doesn’t cater to mainstream petrol scooter market.

Re: Hero Dash electric scooter launched at Rs. 62,000

This offering seems to be focused on geo-fenced B2B customers where the eVs can be sold for in campus use. What ever additionally they sell in open market is just added bonus.

I remember a Hero electric dealer saying that orders for B2B are much higher at the moment than B2C. Bounce was recently quoting that most of there daily rides start and end at metro stations with less than 7kms ride. Such scooter is very suitable for this usage.

More over 25kph also means no licenses needed for using one.
