It has a shift light. See that quadrilateral looking light next to the Neutral indicator on the dash pic posted by above user? That's the programmable shift light which is what I assume the HMSI's wording is for "peak hold" or whatever Mr.Guleria wants it to be named!

re: Honda confirms CB300R for India; bookings open. Edit: Launched @ 2.41L

Wow! This motorcycle looks cool!

While the power figures are rather humble, it is still going to be an interesting bike to ride. Not to forget 26bhp CBR250R did serious speeds when the roads allowed. CB300R is going to be faster with the 5 bhp power advantage and 17kg weight advantage over the CBR 250R.

And please don't compare Duke 250 here, the Duke 250 is slower even when compared to the CBR 250R.

IMO the CB300R makes a better street motorcycle than even the Duke 390. And the Honda is going to outlast the rider, which clearly can't be said about the KTM.

While international automobile journalists were all praises for the handling and dynamics of the faired sibling, the CBR 300R, I hope the same applies to CB300 R.

CBR300R came behind none but the RC390 in handling category, above the Ninja 300 and R3. And the brakes were said to be amazing.

re: Honda confirms CB300R for India; bookings open. Edit: Launched @ 2.41L

The exhaust with its plasticky shroud is an eyesore. The CBR250R exhaust was much better looking.
This bike will look way cooler with an Akrapovic exhaust.

Now there is another doubt creeping into my mind. Honda USA has released the 650F in neo sports cafe trim:
https://powersports.honda.com/2019/cb650r.aspx
But we dont know if Honda India will release this here, as it will easily cross 8L.

This CB650R is, in my eyes, the perfect combination of looks, comfort, power and reliability. It will be a bike which can be kept for a lifetime.
If I purchase the CB300R and then Honda releases the 650, I will feel very stupid.

Any suggestions?

I doubt that it will be stupid to buy the CB300R, if you like what is on offer. At worst you may loose some money when 650 is launched later, if at all.

1) You can easily trade in and Honda will be happy to retain you as a customer. There is no word or clarity on it and hence you will continue to enjoy the 300 until 650 becomes official.
2) If 650 is released and you don't like it at that point (either the bike itself or if we have a better competition product at that time), you will be in a better position again.
3) If 650 is not released, you can use the 300 for long and then pass it on to someone in the family

In all the three cases - you will enjoy your money's worth

The only issue is if 650 is released immediately (say within 1 year) then your monetary losses will be countable. But I see the chance of that happening to be very low.

I doubt that CB650R would be launched anytime soon. The dhoom effects still continue and a very large proportion of Super/Sports bike buying public still prefers the Motorcyles with fairing.

Even if Honda decides (we know form experience that they take their own sweet time in doing this) to bring it here, they won't be able to price it drastically below the CBR650/650R, which kind of throws the value proposition of the window.

re: Honda confirms CB300R for India; bookings open. Edit: Launched @ 2.41L

So this captivating neo designed steed comes out of the blue while I was contemplating upgrading from Duke 200 to Z400 (hoping it's launched here soon). CB does look good from all the reviews I have seen and material I've read so far and of course there's the Honda badge double confirming all that.

Few Questions:

1. Besides the twin refinement & some what higher power, is there any reason(s) why Z400 would still trump CB300R? Rather I would end up saving much with Honda without compromising on any useful tech.

2. The issue I see with CB300R is that it's being sold only at wing dealers.

I called up few non-wing dealers in the hope that they could talk about bookings but they had no clue.

The nearest wing dealer in NCR is 2hrs away from me; Bite the bullet, get the bike but then it'll be a pain to take it that far for servicing and fixing any issues. Am I weaving cobwebs of imagination in my head or non-wing dealers can work on this given that CBR is still serviced at non-wing dealers.

The red looks attractive a perfect flick able machine in the urban set up and I'm being told 2nd week of March delivery by the dealer.

Was thinking of getting MT15. This is too good a bike to miss. What a brilliant package.. Especially Weight and power. Honda please price it right.

Go to the superbike and imports section of this forum, navigate to service costs thread. Study the spares and service charges between Ninja 650 and Cbr650F. You can easily make the decision then.

This is a Mexican standoff here for me, the Jawa 42 or this efficient Honda CB300R that I had always been waiting. Had booked the 42 in November but no sign of the showroom yet in my city. I love the nostalgia associated with the Jawa and the retro design along with the shorter rider friendly ergonomics but Honda has just thrown in a surprise with this new motorcycle. Of course, I had made an enquiry to the local Honda dealer almost eight months back about this motorcycle but then they were clueless. It seems the good times are here for motorcyclists.

Everything looks great for the bike and given good pricing, this should sell well. Only gripe: Small fuel tank and almost unusable pillion seat. But then this bike is probably targeted towards solo riders and for that there are not many better options than this in the market right now. At first I was hearing CB150R but it's good that they have gone with 300 because it will save the market for their Hornet and Xblade while giving a new option for high end naked street bikes. Good move Honda

I personally am so glad Honda decided to get this beautiful bike to India. I just spent half of the day looking at this bike and CB650R's reviews. I've been looking for an apt upgradation from my enfield 350 Classic for quite some time now. I guess this is it. I feel it's a better option than Interceptor 650 for sedate city riders like me.

I went ahead and booked one. I had booked the cbr250r when it launched originally but the very long wait made me switch to the Ninja 650 which proved a bit too much (weight and power wise) for my modest city use. This seems to be the right bike for my use

Not a single dealer in goa? Nothing on the website as well. I am in market for a pre owned bike and was actually looking for a ktm 390, but then this looks very tempting and am biased towards honda for their beautiful engines and more so reliability which to me is of utmost importance.
