Does anyone know when is BS6 variant getting launched? One of the local dealers in BLR just now said it will come in May-2020. Is this true?

Still no news of the BS6 launch. Honda meanwhile does have a new page, much better than the old CB 300R page: https://www.hondabigwing.in/cb300r

Looks like the previous gen in the page. 2020 model has golden forks and matt dark grey/black parts on the front and a new matte blue colour.

Maybe Honda is focusing on reducing prices by localisation

Looks like Honda has quietly removed CB300R today from it's website. It was there last night when I checked. Can this be taken as a sign of BS6 version launch imminent ? or Honda quietly removing this bike from Indian market. I guess only time will tell.

Looks like we are not going to see a BS6 version of the motorcycle.
Sales volume at the price was extremely low anyway. We did see months when costlier Yamaha R3 outsold the CB300r. Hopefully Honda brings in their 500 series soon. But given the way HMSI operates, that day could be too too far away in future.

At this rate, we shall never see a proper powerful Motorcycle from the Honda stable. Maybe they should launch their upcoming vehicles with the Activa baging to increase numbers.

There goes our hope of a modern quarter-liter Honda motorcycle in India. They don't have the CBR250 and also taking CB300R out of the market.

The current Honda lineup consists of 100-160cc bikes and some liter-class ones, aiming mostly for the mass market

Looks like that indeed. Though even if it was to come in BS6 guise, the pricing and VFM factor will deter away a lot of potential customers unless someone is a Honda fan. I love my CBR250 but I would not consider CB300R since there are so many other worthy contenders in this space such as new Apache 310, KTM 390 range, Interceptor duo and even Kawasaki 300 or BMW 310 twins when offered with good discounts.

Not arguing the legendary Honda reliability but the competition will be difficult for this little gem of a machine to survive if and when it comes.

On the flip side, good to know Yamaha R3 did better even at much higher price point. Full fairing and extra cylinder at work I guess.

We know that HMSI is in it for the mass market and the Honda bigwing program is just a showcase of their products rather than their intent to market and sell them well.

What Kawasaki India could do with their mid range bikes in last 3-4 years in India leaves me amazed why other big 3 Japanese bike manufacturers could not do the same or did not try hard enough. My humble thought, its because they did not have to since Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha have their sub 250cc portfolio to meet their targets whereas Kawasaki did not have that choice. Good for us!

Lets wait and see if their 500 series grace us this year. Or if were are thinking wishfully, their smashing 250RR, 300RR or 400RR series.

Came across this article today -

This bike has been on my radar and i was sad to see it not being updated for BS6. Hopefully we get it back in showrooms soon!

Update on this is that I got the link lowering kit installed and it has come out very well. The riding posture has not changed much, it is much easier to get on and get off or bring to a stop at speed, I feel a lot more in control. The kit comes with a side stand too which seems to be of very good quality. All in very happy with this mod.

I have both a CBR250 and the CB300R and they are different breeds. I bought the CB300 because it was extremely light and very flickable in traffic and now with link lowering it is a perfect bike for city riding and the occasional short tour. I think the bike is perfect for the vertically challenged who don't want a heavy bike. But because of its low weight it feels a little light on the highway once one passes 80.

On the other hand, the CBR250 feels so planted on the highway and very stable even at speeds of 100+. But while it doesn't heat up much, I don't like using it much in the city.

And yet both have the same engine, tuned differently

On the newer Honda models HMSI may release, I believe that both the Rebel 500 and CB500X will be released in India within a month or two. I got this info from the local Big Wing service person.

While I never got a chance to ride the CB300, I completely agree with your comments on CBR250. It's such a wonderful highway cruiser, almost perfect for light touring on Indian roads.

Coming to other launches by Honda, I've been hearing about the launch for 500 and 650 series since a while now from my service centre. Another member from Chennai is informed by Honda big wing that 500 series isn't launching anytime in first half of this year. Refer his post here

Hope Honda wakes up from the slumber this year and doesn't really get complacent with the success(if I can say so) of CB350

This actually solves the mystery of the CB300R appearing in October 21 sales chart, someone managed to get a CB300R before its launched.
