If the Interceptor is what you want then go for it. That's a really attractive price for a low mileage example.

Had picked one for a friend for almost a lakh more than what you paid about a year ago with similar mileage.

That’s a 33% cut on a 1.5year old bike, sounds like a great deal!

Pounce on it. If everything is in order and no issues can be found after riding it, I don't think you can get such a deal again. Wish such rates are available here in the south.

Close the deal ASAP.

Gents, just wanted to say thanks to all who took time to answer my queries on this thread. I've paid the token money and she should be home by Friday

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Hi everyone,

A query regarding saddle bags. Has anyone tried mounting them "without" saddle stays? I did this experiment a few months ago with my Rynox Nomad saddle bags and they had decent clearance from the silencers and because of the rear shock absorbers it also seemed that there was no risk of them touching the tyres at any point.

I went for a short 5 km ride just to see if there were any issues and again the saddle bags did not touch the tyre. One point to note though is that the bags were empty and liable to droop once they are filled but my question is, can we forego using saddle stays since clearly the rear shockers prevent the bags from touching the tyre?

This is purely for aesthetic reasons since I detest the look of the bike with the saddle stays and is not a penny flinching strategy. I am planning a 2,000 km round trip in some time and wanted your take on this.

Should be no problem, a friend did a Himachal trip last week on his Interceptor with Nomad saddlebags, and a pillion. He doesn't have saddle stays, only the Zana rear rack, which helps elevate the bags above the exhausts and allows the use of pillion footpegs. All went without a hitch. If you're riding alone, the tail rack is not required either.

Thanks. I actually have the Zana back carrier and back rest and will be riding without a pillion. Appreciate the feedback.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

I was just browsing through Royal Enfield's Make It Yours platform and modding an Interceptor 650 in my spare time, when I noticed this Black Premium Touring Dual seat from Royal Enfield. I never realized that there was a second option for the Interceptors seat. Has anyone used this Premium Touring Dual seat? Any feedback on it? Is it already available in Royal Enfield stores?

It is listed as an accessory on the RE site and is available at RS 4750/-.

I got the same Rynox Nomad saddle bags first and then the saddle stays. But before the latter arrived, wife and I were eager to ride so we did around 1500kms with the bags half full and no saddle stays. This was the result of the bag touching the silencer.
Luckily I noticed on time.

We had to be vigilant about keeping one bag lighter than the other at all times.

I got the Zana saddle stay purely because of its protection against the bag touching the silencer. I didn't feel at any time that the bags would come in contact with the tyres though.

If you can ensure that the bags stay in place, you can do without saddle stays for sure.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

I was planning to pick up a used GT 650, but Urban Nomad's steal of a deal on the Interceptor has kinda shifted the goalposts Would love to have the opinion here about this bike, especially the price. After a test ride, here are the goods and the bads.

Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin-screenshot-20210710-212614-only-3000km-continental-gt-650cc.png

Info:

1. Bike is Sep 2019 registered, in Mohali, Punjab
3. Done about 3300 kms
4. Owned by a doctor who also bought a Perak, couldn't ride either so selling both

Good:

1. Bike is stock, which is very rare in Punjab
2. Runs fine, no problems detected in test ride
3. It's in the color that I want

Bad:

1. It's with a dealer, not a direct sale
2. Asking price is stupid at 2.8, got them down to 2.6 but not budging lower
3. Bike's been sitting at dealer's for a few weeks, small amount of rust on exhaust headers

The bike looks in excellent condition and the running is very less too, if you compare the price with a new bike you still are saving a big amount. The price is on the higher side but there are some factors too

1.Continental GT is expensive than Interceptor
2. This colour Doctor Mayhem is 11k expensive than the base colour of GT.
3. Registration charges are less in Delhi as compared to some other states.
4. As it is a dealer bike the dealer will make some commission too

I think with the increasing cost of fuel you will see some more bikes too, keep checking olx and other marketplaces.
