The total weight of bike and rider is shared by two tyres.

Right, right. I was just curious as to how close that number can get to the single tyre load limit.

Looks like he brought the bike in Australia and not in India from the picture as it has Yamahas and also his location says Adelaide.

No accessories right now, will look into exhausts at begin with in some days.

It was $9990 ride away. This includes registration for 1 year, roadside assistance for 3 years and 3 years unlimited km warranty.

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

I want to start off a custom paint job for my INT tank but on a spare tank. I am looking for buying an INT tank. Any idea if I can buy one from RE?
Getting a tank from an accidental INT would be much much cheaper but finding one would be challenging. Any TBhpian having any experience on an INT?

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

Hi everyone,
My Interceptor 650 is closing in on almost 2 years of ownership. Here’s my 2 cents on the bike as per the ownership goes by.
I’ve ridden the bike now for 14,000 km, would have surely been more if not for the motorcycle being parked safely in the garage for almost 3-4 months this year. I’ve had my fair share of niggles for which I’ve had to visit the SVC time and again. To start off with I’ve had my front hub replaced on account of paint chipping off, cone set recently replaced as the wobbling issue would not go off even with lubrication and torquing as per the given requirements. Busted my fork seal around 11,000 kms and got the stock fork oil replaced with a 7.5w grade Liqui Moly fork oil. The bike is stock as it can be, not even the seat has been replaced, I think my bum’s gotten used to this as I’m a cyclist this feels like heaven on earth hahaha. I’m on my second set of Pirelli Phantom SportComp the stock ones lasted for around 12,000kms. I’ve had bruised shin’s I cannot deny that but with use I’ve learnt how to stay safe with it. As I close in on my 2 year annual service I feel this bike even though has a few drawbacks is the best decision that I could have ever made back in 2019! Those 14k km have been a blast be it arrow straight highways in MH, Karnataka, Gujarat or the winding roads of the western ghats or sometimes even the beaten path(I would not suggest you to do this on stock tires) the bike has been a hoot to ride! The torque that the bike produces around 3000 RPM is just insane! And the best part it it would not scare the life out of you like some premium bikes do!
I love the face that RE made it so accessible to customers who would upgrade from a commuter motorcycle. I for one upgrade from a RTR 180(40,000km) still going strong. And I’m sure the Interceptor would be in my garage for a long time to come. If you ask me is this the one that I would be happy with for life. I would say yes and no. The urge to upgrade to an Adventure class motorcycle has been pricking me ever since I test rode a few. Hopefully Honda prices their CB500X well fingers crossed.
Before ending this small review I would like to say reading all the 150+ pages on Team-BHP on this bike just puts a smile on my face! This forum is the best place that newbies like us crave for.
Thank you!

Re: Ridden: Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Twin

A quick update. First service done at 500 Kms, oil change as per schedule & costed about 2800 odd. I had asked for the gear slotting to be checked as I was getting to neutral every time I change from 1st to 2nd and some false neutrals in between. Bike was serviced at acclaim motors at Yelahanka, the tall fly screen I had opted for during delivery was finally in stock & got that fitted too. First impressions after 1st service- smooth gear shifts, smoother acceleration & was finally able to take it past 4K RPM.
At about 10 am on Christmas Day had lots of free time, got onto an impromptu ride! Quickly googled for nearest places around BLR, Nandi Hills was done already. Zeroed in on bheemeshwari dam that was about 50kms from where I stay, off I went... roads were quite busy probably due to the long weekend, anyway the ride after city limits was good. Felt good to take it over 4k rpm & enjoyed the ride until the reservoir. Although bheemeshwari reservoir is closed for sight seeing, you can get a good view from the roads, clicked a few pics & took in the beautiful view for a few minutes. On the way back once I reached the main road, googled for Savandurga, another popular tourist place nearby on Magadi Road, since it said only about 30 Kms decided to ride further as I was throughly enjoying the ride. I must say... It was totally worth it!! The winding Magadi Road was great to open the throttle on the interceptor & take in the beautiful scenery around the place. You have to go through forest limits to reach Savandurga, a Rocky Mountain that is quite popular among trekkers. Once I reached the place took a few pics & got back on the saddle back to the city. Enjoyable ride back, took the NICE expressway back to Tumkur Road for a different experience & it was great! It was close to 150kms of improptu ride today & was great fun! The engine on interceptor 650 is something to behold! It will keep you entertained no matter what the roads demand, I’m throughly enjoying it! Some pics of the impromptu ride.

Plus, these CEAT tyres are Tube Tybe and not Tubeless, as is evident from this pic which I took at a dealer in NCR today. The earlier Pirellis on the Interceptor were Tubeless, though they had tubes inside owing to the spoke rims. Therefore, if one is to use any of the sealants like Outex, Way to Tubeless etc, or go in for alloys, these CEAT tyres have also got to be changed to some tubeless type. That's a bummer. I was really hoping that the new Ceat tyres would be good replacement for the previously stock SportComps. This not only increases the expenses of tubeless conversion, owing to unavailability of imported tyres, there aren't many options available in 18". Ceat Cruz F sure doesn't count as an option for me anymore.

Not that Ceat is at fault here since it is RE who has chosen to not provide alloys as standard or even as an accessory for the tyre manufacturer to even think of providing a tubeless tyre option.

I hope once RE launches the alloy wheels for the 650 Twins, options for tubeless tyres could surface.

What exactly is the difference between the two types? i know we can use tubeless tyres with tube inside, would would happen if we use this Tyre in tubeless configuration?

I am no expert on this, but I believe that the tyre lips that form a seal with the rims in case of tubeless would be made differently/ a different compound to effectively form an air tight seal. So if a tube type tyre is used without a tube, then it would not form an air tight seal and would let the air out eventually.
