Congratulations. Sensible upgrade buddy. I heard there were some good discounts going on for last remaining Versys 650s in Mumbai so hope you got a good deal. Any idea from Kawasaki guys when the new Versys is landing?

Your CBR looks wonderful, try and keep it with you while you get used to Versys. Who knows, maybe you’ll prefer CBR more in coming months, atleast for short city roundabouts

Congrats on your interceptor sir. I've always associated your profile pic here with CBR250 lol. Ever since I was 19 and dreamt of buying the CBR. Your posts were very helpful after my purchase too. I'd personally be a bit sad if you sell your CBR . Glad you keeping the bike no matter what

Congrats on the upgrade. Try not to sell the CBR if parking is the only reason.

Re: My 2018 Honda CBR 250R

25,000 kms update.

Technically she's on 24940, but she's running absolutely fantastic.

I have been using the CBR for my daily duties, such as school nearby shopping runs. Office run is not required any more with WFH.

The only issue I can say is 3 cannot ride to the ice-cream/waffle center for those after dinner cravings, so either we have to order or take out the car for a 2-5 min distance. Yes one can walk, but while returning with a sleepy 5 year old its better to have a vehicle to reach back in a min or two.

Anyways, I am quite happy with the bike and do take it out for a 50-100 kms spin once a month so that she can stretch her legs there.

Today I lubed and took out the exhaust covers for cleaning, planning to paint it black/grey over it. The bigger exhaust cover is the one taking a lot of brunt from the autos and in the tight parking spaces.

Hey, are you still using the Motul 7100 10w40 for your CBR ? Can you tell me how does the bike perform (specially on higher RPMs above 6k) as compared to Shell adv Ultra and Stock Honda Throttle ?

I have only used Shell Adv Ultra and Honda throttle in last 10 yrs. But thinking to use Motul 7100 in next service.

Yes I am.

I have used the bike on Stock, Shell Adv Ultra, Motul 7100 and Motul 300V.

My usage for the bike has mostly been 60% city and 40% highways.

Of the four, Motul 7100 has been my favorite. The bike runs smooth in the city and on the highway as well. On the highway at 7.5k rpm the bike cruises comfortably at triple digits, the vibrations are almost negligible. I usually do a warm up before starting the ride, so its usually smooth in the city as well. However, at times when I started the ride without warm up, I have found the bike to be slightly rough in the initial couple of kms.

I would rank, the Shell Adv Ultra after the Motul 7100. Performance is quite similar to Motul 7100, however the motul is just marginally better overall.

The stock and 300V I used only for around 1000 kms each. Stock was the first one which I immediately changed after the first service. Then the 300V I did not get to use on the highway, but I changed it as the bike used to get hot in city traffic and there was also some knocking while using this oil. Both issues gone after oil change.

So by-far the Motul 7100 has been the best for the CBR.

Perfect. Thank you. I will use Motul 7100 10w40 for my next service.
