I haven't watched any of the videos till now as my needs were met in 2011, however, I watched the last 2 of them to provide you a constructive feedback, since you asked.

1. Keep the length of the videos as short as possible. Reason being, nobody has patience to watch the entire episode slowly, everyone watches the videos because videos help to understand better than reading in a very short span of time. So keeping the length of video at minimum becomes important
2. Have an uniform introduction & ending. Means, start something like, a specific music followed by your name or logo or whatever it may be, but that music & that clip has to be uniform to all your videos only. Or probably say Welcome to xxx show & say the tools required for this task are...
3. Speed up the obvious tasks & slow down only when tasks change or when you want to exercise caution. What I mean by this is, take for instance this video "Replacing an Rx indicator stay", so in here...
  • Speed up the removal of screw in the video & probably add a voice saying use a 12/13mm wrench
  • Preparation is more important, for instance, at 00:44 the nut couldn't be removed unless the screw next to it could be removed. This is common thing when we work, but when it comes to making videos, such trial & errors has to be avoided as it increases the length, size of the video causing impatience to viewers
  • Speeding up the obvious ones such as removing the bolt, screw, however when the task comes in between switching from nut to screw, that has to be at normal pace.
  • Adding a voice saying how to hold the wrench & how to remove & then speed up the whole process will be nice
  • Keep the new stay opened from the cover readily instead of peeling off the cover, again to shorten the length of video
  • At 1:53, ideally saying a statement that, we're comparing the size of both stay to be sure the new ones don't protrude out will be better
  • Again, assembling back video, can be faster in terms of fitting the bolt, wiring through, fitting bulb & finally the cover.

Tip
1. Have an assistant to shoot the video while you work, that helps a lot
2. Plan the tasks to shoot ahead before actually starting the work, rehearsal helps in identifying the right set of tools as well prepping up for the tasks

Good luck & much appreciated for the video works

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Will improve from future videos.

My Assistant will turn 2 this march, presently she just takes whatever she likes and Doesn't return it

Jokes aside, I was not doing it seriously till now, now I have an obligation, there are 295 People who await my next video. I will be doing some better videos now onwards.

Thanks again for the feedback.

An easy DIY engine Buffing.

Expertize level : Intermediate/Beginner

Tools required, a Drill Machine/Angele Grinder, Buffing compound and a Buffing pad

Please note I had already removed the paint on the engine covers and Forks, if your bike has paint use a wire brush to strip the paint first. Then follow the above procedure

Hi Pramod

I recently came across a single owner 1990 Rx 100 in olx trivandrum with genuine low kilometers.

Asking price is 85,000/-.

Do you think this is a fair price? Considering it being all stock and in good running condition and all papers updated?

There are no low mileage RX 100s, apart from the chassis and front fork almost everything is usually replaced. 85K price is extremely high, I am not sure if the market is that good, I saw some original Jap old Kerala reg RX in the 50k Range. Do your research before you decide to pick one up.

You can get some pointers form the below thread.

Could be the camera angle, haven’t noticed anything in person, apart from a few chips around the hub area, I am getting wired wheels once rains stop. They rust at a drop of a hat. Maintenance is difficult.

Thanks Pramod.

I checked out the bike. Pics attached as thumbnails.

1990
Single owner
43, 000/- run
Started in first kick with new spark plug
Tank fully rusted inside
80% chrome rusted and painted silver for testing
Instrument cluster has 'Rajdoot' written on it
Engine right fin is a bit chipped
Pickup not that good
RC valid till 2024
Insurance till June 2020

Minimum work needed being 22, 000/-
Is quoting 35000/- for bike reasonable or will it be low balling?

I live near Chavadimukku. I read somewhere that you live near technopark. If this deal goes good, may I bring the bike to you for expert opinion?

Whats your take on coverting Rx 100 to Mutt bike like the one attached? Are you a purist?

Re: Yamaha RX Series Bikes : DIY Video Tutorials

The "chipped part" is not on the head, but one of the fins of the cylinder. Since you are proposing to replace the cylinder kit, I presume, you will get a new cylinder with fins proper. Please thoroughly examine the chassis of the bike before you buy. The tank can be cleaned by electrolysis and need not be replaced
